Srixon Z-Star Golf Balls

Look, if you're thinking about trying the Srixon Z-STAR, just do it. These balls are legit. The feel is what sold me. They're soft when you hit them, but they still launch off the clubface nicely. The real magic happens on approach shots and around the green. The spin control is insane! You can really trust these things to grab the green and stop dead near the pin. Goodbye, dreaded roll-out. Off the tee, they fly super straight and the distance is right there with the big names. They just feel incredibly reliable every time I hit a solid drive.

I’ve been loyal to the Pro V1 for many years. I decided to give this a try with the massive amounts of technology going into balls these days. For me, what’s notable about the Z-Star, is that I gain about 10-15 yards off the tee, but lose roughly 5-10 yards with my irons. It’s nearly the opposite with the Pro V1. Not as much spin as I’d like, but it isn’t a terrible ball. I’d say it’s definitely worth trying versus your gamer to see what you get out of it. Srixon did a great job with the feel and texture of the actual ball. Pretty decent around the greens, however a bit firm off the face for pitches and chips.

Best balls I’ve played. As Pro V1 are considered the standard, I find the Z-Stars are longer with a more penetrating flight off the tee. They feel solid off the irons and grip the greens with the wedges. Off the putter they feel solid but not clicky.

Ich glaube mit dem Z-Star "meinen" Ball gefunden zu haben. Mein Weg führte über den Soft-Feel, AD-333, Tri Speed, Q-Star-Tour letztlich zum Z-Star. Mit diesem Ball habe ich insgesamt das beste Gefühl. Die anderen Stars (Diamont und XV) passen gefühlt nicht mehr zu meinem Spiel. Die Bälle vor dem Z-Star hatten bei mir zu viel Spinn und flogen teilweise zu hoch. Vor allem beim Driver (aber auch bei den Eisen) passt die Kombination aus Länge und Spinn für meinen Schwung sehr gut; Wedges und Putter fühlen sich gut an - somit passt der Ball einfach für mich. Ich habe keine technischen Erklärungen oder objektiv gemessene Detaildaten, ich gebe hier ausschließlich meine Eindrücke wieder welche für mich entscheident sind, den bei jedem einzelenen Schlag/Put fühlt man den Ball. Letztlich finde ich auch die Haltbarkeit der Bälle sehr gut.
