great quality
added this to a terminator themed gel blaster im doing and what better optic to use for a movie about cyborgs than a "cyborg" optic. plus it looks furturistic too. optics are crystal clear, retical is bright and controls are easy to use. eye relief is not the best, only about 2 to 3 inches at best. mounted solid... bit of heft to it (weighs more than the gel blaster its mounted on) a bit more than i wanted to spend on a gel blaster but.. come on... cyborg scope on a "cyborg" gun? i couldnt pass it up. love the circle dot reticle, figured gel blasters arent the most accurate so get em all in the circle will be good enough. 2nd monstrum optic ive gotten so far and not disappointed.. tough built optics. does not come with scope caps but no big deal. so if youre looking for a nice little optic for your actual firearm or your phased plasma rifle in 40 watt range, this is worth looking into

Better than expected
Bought the Monstrum Cyborg 3X Prism to replace a Vortex Spitfire AR Prism 1X which has a AAA battery for illumination but is difficult to unscrew the battery cover because it is below the optic just above the rail. The Cyborg is just as good as the Vortex Spitfire but at 1/3 the price. Those that say that there is little or no eye relief do not know how a prism sight functions. This is not a red dot which can be mounted far forward because they have no eye relief. A prism scope is more like a traditional powered scope. Monstrum Cyborg Prism Scope Series Stated Eye Relief is 3.0 - 3.5 in. & seems correct to me. Mount the sight all the way back on the rail & it will be fine. For daylight use, no illumination is necessary. After cataract surgery, my eyesight is better than 20/20 with no correction needed, except readers for closeup, (less than 18 in). However, the etched reticle is still clear. Alcon Toric implants are among the best you can get. Google this: "etched reticle clarity with eye implants explained". Toric IOLs: Designed for people with astigmatism, these implants correct the irregular curvature of the eye's lens. By addressing astigmatism, toric IOLs can improve the crispness of an etched reticle and the overall image clarity in the optic.

Best budget optic
Exactly what i needed for my .308, clear picture with good eye relief for someone with astigmatism. Have put at least 3-400 rounds through since purchase and has held perfect zero, was even able to hit and 8" steel gong at 200 yards.

Battery life terrible
Battery will not last long at all. Circle dot visible during daylight but not dependable for lowlight or night situations if you need the reticle illuminated.

Love Monstrum!
Another great product from Monstrum! I love this sight a lot! It's clear, its held up in heavy rain and snow, and its also held up to some drops as well. It holds it's zero really well, it's accurate, it looks sleek and stealthy, and for the price, i have no complaints at all. I'm stoked on this sight and i might get another in the near future!

Crystal clear glass, decent reticle, poor eye relief.
Super nice glass, easy reticle, feels like my eye has to be right against the sight to use it.

Minimum eye relief
Pros: Seems to be decently made. Cons: Eye relief IS LESS THAN 1.5". Optimistically 2". Thats it. No rifle has a rail that close and can not be mounted to actually see thru the scope. Even if it could be mounted that close, thats a huge safety issue. Eye relief needs to be 4~7 inches like any other scope. Its also a lot heavier than stated. Prism science is decent- but not on any Monstrom. Need to be similar to any other a red/green dot that DOES not have eye relief. Product description completely wrong. Huge disappointment and hassle.

Excellent affordable 1x scope if blue lock tite keeps the screws tight.
Used on AR9 with 4" barrel. 15yards is spot on every time after zero. Make sure to take the 4 screws off the riser and blue locktite them if you're using them. After several hundred rounds, they've come loose twice causing POI shift. Also blue lock tite the two screws that hold scope onto picatinny rail. Initially thought it was because of quality control or just cause you get what you pay for. This is worth every penny for an affordable prism especially if you have astigmatism and get star burst with holographic red dots. Lets hope the blue lock tite does it's job. We'll see...
