This is a no fuss adapter. The speed boost stuff is mostly theoretical but this device you can hold in your hand and not be afraid of breaking it.

Needed this to get a solar panel to work with a fountain
I needed this for a very limited use, I bought a small solar panel to power a small outdoor fountain. The solar panel came with a USBC male connector, the fountain had an old style USB male connector to plug into a standard USB charger.. So I needed an adapter, this works great, but I'm not using any data transfer so I can't comment on that.

I bought this for the super-strike dongle because it wouldn’t read when plugged directly into my usb-c port without it. It would only read when using a cable plugged into usb-a. I wanted to utilize my usb-c port for direct connection to my cpu. Apparently Logitech isn’t adding a necessary part into the mouse so it can read the signal so the usb-c port won’t detect it on its own.

Convenient, doesn't take up space on my desk. I'm using it for my fitbit charger as it needs a standard usb connector, and the cables I use to charge my accessories are all usb c.
