Average Sponge
Good quality sponge. Does not seem to scrub as well as other sponges. Overall a good value for the amount of sponges you are getting.

Impressive durabilty and effectiveness
I am very impressed with the durability and effectiveness of these sponges. We have been using a similar, but different product before this and I must say this product surprisingly held up better and longer than the other. The other is thicker; this is thinner. But that did not seem to matter. The fibers that comprise the scrubbing side worked surprisingly well on tough stuff. Even though some of the fibers came loose and flaked off, enough of them remained intact to continue to function just fine. This product also seems to be completely compostable, unlike the other which has stitching and a product tag that may or may not be easily decomposed.

NOT BPI certified = NOT fully compostable
These are fine in terms of their design, etc. - comparable to name-brand blue ones and probably a better environmental choice. However they are not BPI certified and therefore will not be accepted by local commercial composting facilities. You should also DEFINITELY not think you could put them in a backyard composter, which don't have the same heat and bacteria mixes to break things down as commercial facilities. The description states they are "biodegradable" - don't be fooled, as that could mean it'll break down over the next 1000 years (it's bio material, after all, but so were dinosaur bones and we still have some of those around). They also claim to be compostable, but I can't find a compost facility that would take them. Like I said, probably better than ones that include plastic but it still has to go to a landfill.
