A bit sceptical...but really not bad at all.
I wanted a cheap alternative to buying an expensive flash for my Sony A6500 as I would only use flash occasionally for family portraits. These diffusers considerably reduce the harsh shadows of the pop up flash. Use with care, though, as any lens, apart from a pancake, may cast a shadow on the subject if used to close to the subject, otherwise excellent value.

Can make a massive improvement
I purchased this item elsewhere.I have only used it with the Sony 35mm prime lens for portrait type photography, but for such a simple device the improvement over the standard flash is quite extraordinary. It kills that horrible harsh lighting effect from the basic flash at a stroke. I also use a large hot shoe mounted electronic bounce flash but I don't think this will be needed quite so much. This diffuser of course reduces the intensity of the flash and therefor the camera will inevitably auto-set to wider apertures and higher ISO settings than with the direct flash. I find I can shoot portrait type pictures with my lens (aperture priority) set to F2 or F1.8 and the ISO on auto will usually set itself to somewhere between 100 and 350, which is perfectly OK most of the time. With the standard kit lens, especially at at wider angles and of course with a smaller maximum aperture the results may well be less impressive. I guess another factor to take into account is the shooting environment as the flash is bouncing off the ceiling to some extent but it is definitely a useful bit of kit to have with the camera.
