Fun for the entire family if the family is the Adam's
Comedy Horror with the bias more towards the comedy and the horror being exploding bodies and bodies being torn limb from limb.Is it entertaining?A definite Yes; that is if you fined people being torn apart amusing. Is it well made?Again Yes but I don't think it'll become a classic but I could be wrong. Is it a good story?Well it's an interesting and fun concept based on the idea; what if Renfield (Dracula's familiar/dogs body man servant) got disenchanted with his job, realised Dracula as been using and abusing him all this time and decided to quit. How's Dracula going to react? What's the consequences for any humans involved or in the vicinity. Throw in the local crime gang and corupt police trying to exploit the situation and you have the ingredients for one almighty blood bath. It's recieved some criticism for Cage's portrail of Dracula. I, personally quite liked it, but I can see some people finding it a little too camp rather than frightening. He comes over more Bela Lugosi than Christopher Lee with a sprinkling of Nosferatu. They made a mistake with Renfield's back story; they give Jonathan Harker's history as Renfield's when Renfield tells it in this movie. Apart from that he's a avery good version, of Bram Stoker's Renfield, and not the usual subservient cringing broken old man movies usually give us.
