Favorite Shoes!
So, where to begin.... The Merrell Trail Glove Barefoot shoes are my favorite shoe! I'm on my third pair. My first pair lasted 2-1/2 years and that was wearing them every weekend and anytime not at work. Since then, I purchased another pair which I am wearing now and when I saw the price on these, I purchased them as a back up! :)When I got my first pair, I got them at Dicks Sporting Goods. The salesman gave me the run down on them and the differences of having no padding for support. Let me say, he was right. The first two weeks I regretted the purchase because every muscle in my foot hurt as well as my shins, but he told me to stick through it and it would get better. When you wear shoes with heavy padded support your feet become weak especially in the ankles. Wearing these, my ankles rolled in since they were so used to having arch support (which I always thought was good for your feet...not true). After the first two weeks I started to notice my my ankles straightening on their own and my feet built up strength through out my entire foot! Now, if I try to wear a regular athletic shoe, my lower back will hurt.Overall, I feel these shoes are a much healthier option for your health and posture (specifically in the feet and ankles) but even for your back and spine. The quality of the materials is very durable and they breathe really well. You can wear with or without socks but I typically wear with ankle socks. Give them a try, this is the closest to how your feet were designed to be used. Trust your body and you'll be happy with them.PS - I have 3 other barefoot shoes that are not the Trail Gloves for a total of 6 pair! Love them! I do wish I could find shoe laces for the slip-on leather ones though..... good luck!

You can feel the midsole/arch support, but it's still a good minimalist shoe.
I wear 13s and 14s, and bought size 14 for these shoes. I feel this is a good fit for my taller feet, and like the extra wiggle room in the already-ample toe box. They replace my worn out Trail Glove 2s and will work nicely for terrain with more debris and rock. Overall I like this shoe, but there are a few differences I don't particularly care for.Compared to some of my Merrells in the past, this shoe has a more pronounced arch/midfoot support. As a person with fairly flat feet, this has taken a little bit to get used to. I can already tell the support isn't as noticeable after wearing them for 50 miles or so, but it's something to be aware of. Secondly, I prefer my lacing to be a little on the looser side, and there is barely enough lace for me to get a knot done up. I typically use something like Lace Locks anyway, but I definitely think the laces could be longer to accommodate taller feet. The ground feel is still fairly good; obviously with a thicker sole you lose some feel, but I do feel both connected to the ground and protected from it. There is no Achilles tab...there's a notch, which I prefer. I like my socks to have a tab at the Achilles, but any shoe that doesn't have a notch, I steer away from. The mesh upper and Vibram soles feel sturdy enough, but I do tend to have issues with the upper separating on Merrell shoes towards their end of life.

i wear these everyday. They look pretty cool. I was afraid they would be a little too large, but they fit pretty good. These Trail Glove shoes mold to your feet very well, they are breathable, and they weigh practically nothing. I love that they are so light! There is something on the inside of the soles of these shoes that contours to the bottom of your feet which make it a dream to walk around in.i am a size 10 in all my other shoes (mostly adidas), and i ordered these in a 10, they are SLIGHTLY larger than usual, but its because they arent as padded/puffy as regular sneakers. even saying this, i still think you should buy your normal size, because its not enough to justify going up a half size imo.for the record, i was NOT paid for my review in anyway, nor did i receive a discount. i paid full price for these shoes and i dont regret it. this is my honest opinion, and i stand by it.

Great looking shoes but began to hurt after 3 days
I liked everything about these shoes when I bought them. I liked the style, the fit, and the comfort. But after wearing them for three straight days, my feet began to hurt. The pain got continuously worse until I gave them to a friend of mine who wore and loved them. On of those oddities of life?!?

GREAT STYLE, QUALITY, BUT I CONSISTENT SIZING
Merrill makes the best shoes for me. Most impressive of all is the support progression of various models of the Brand i.e. from grades of a model with a barefoot feel and yet lots of support to a truly barefoot feel and absolutely no other support. My only problem with the brand is the i consistency of the sizes, even when repurchasing the same model!

Please don't vapor this model
Merrell's Glove models are really iffy. I've had some Vapor Glove Trails fall apart in a week; glued bumper. I look for a sewn bumper that is one piece with a rise just forward of the arch. That's exactly what this model has. It's a faithful reproduction of the best, longest lasting and best looking Trail Gloves I bought over 5 years ago.

Fit and feel great. I'm a 12.5 which they don't make so a 13M fits great. May use them on the golf course during the hot & dry months.

First pair of Merrells
Not much of a runner, but used to be a sprinter, so appreciate the sure feel and surprisingly solid sole of these super light shoes!

Merrell Herren Trail Glove 3
