So it does work, the issue is that compared to the original, it is not as long nor does it have the support tabs on the top and bottom, this makes the power switch less stable and more prone to breaking

I installed this power switch in my DS lite, and had some issues. First of all, it is slightly smaller than the original. This is not an issue for the pins as they are all in the same spot, but for the mounting supports on the sides it's a big deal. Second, the outer shell piece is probably made out of aluminum because it does not like to be soldered to. It works fine and the actual pins were easy to solder, but if you end up buying this one you'll have to salvage the top metal shield off of the old switch to mount it properly.
