Although badged as a multi-generational toy, I suspect this would be the biggest hit with children between the ages of 3 and, er... maybe 10? The manufacturer's recommended age range is 6+, I should say. Some kids will love just playing around with this and being creative - others will want to accept the challenge of making the example shapes (giraffe, heart etc.).The puzzle seems to be well made and unlikely to fall apart unless subjected to a violent attack. Shame it's yet another plastic product, but it would probably be very expensive to make this out of something more sustainable e.g. wood.The blue/white colour scheme is quite subdued compared to a lot of the brightly-coloured tat on show at your local supermarket. I think this gives the puzzle a slightly more "grown-up" look which would perhaps appeal to an older child or, as in my review heading, an adult who just enjoys making shapes.Plenty of scope for keeping fingers busy on Christmas afternoon - and afterwards.

I've used something like this to help with behaviour in class, watch video if you want to know more.Also good to improve small or fine motor skills in a funky fingers group, my name for children who have not done enough cutting, sticking, glueing, pencil work before they arrive in a Nursery or Reception Class. Mobile phones make great nannies, but children lack skills they need when they arrive at school because of them!Happy to recommend, some children will love this, others might get bored easily, but for the child that learns through doing this will really amuse them!
