Black TUSQ XL by Graph Tech Slotted 1/4" Epiphone Style PT-6060-00

Bought this to replace the plastic nut on my Epiphone LP. Yes it's slightly oversized which means if you want to make it perfect, you need to sand down the sides as they overhang the neck by perhaps 1mm each side. I couldn't be bothered as you can't see the overhang nor can you feel it while playing but it's oversized for a reason. It's also slightly tall so again, you'll need to sand it down to the right height to get the correct action. I was lucky that even though I tried to be as gentle as possible in removing the old nut, it took a little wood with it which meant once I sanded down the neck to be flat, the new nut was at the right height! Anyhow, I would say that this is a worthwhile upgrade - I felt as though my LP had a little more sustain and perhaps even a little more harmonic content. Perhaps that's confirmation bias but it's a decent upgrade for little money and an hour of my time so well worth it.

Very impressed, easy to work and tuning is massively improved. Fitted an Epiphone Sheraton II nicely, if it were 1 or 2 mm longer it could be trimmed to perfection.

The nut comes in a simple one card package, well wrapped for something so small. This is the XL variant, so it self lubricates. No jokes intended. Having never ever fitted one of these before, I was nervous about the sizing. When I measured it against the one fitted to my Epiphone Wildkat it was a fraction taller. It turned out that fraction was just what I needed. Not willing to do the change myself, I gave the guitar and nut to a local luthier who then - following my instructions - fitted it without modifying the height. The result is a guitar that now plays in tune, seems easier to use with the Bigsby trem and only needs to be tuned ever so slightly every 4 or 5 songs. It's always that blasted "G" string. I also fitted a roller bridge first, which I should clarify made only a slight difference to the tuning stability.

Can definitely hear a difference since i put it on. Fitted pretty well on my Washburn Pro, which is pretty close to a Les Paul sized neck. Only a small amount of sanding needed, and thats only because I wanted a perfect fit. It would have been adequate anyway if you're not as fussy as me 😜

Probably still the best replacement nut you can get and usually the first thing I change on any guitars I buy, (unless already fitted.) Easy to sand to exact size and usually the nut depth is spot on with little to no adjustment needed.

Just a tiny tweak of sanding to allow perfect fitment on the Kramer Baretta Special. Excellent action at the first fret with no further slot filing required.

I broke the nut. Decided to try Tusq XL black. Was quite surprised. I will be changing my nuts to TUSQ XL on my Toronado and Telecaster as soon as I can. I decided to get a preslotted nut, and I didn't want the hassle with adjusting a bone nut. Super easy to install. a bit of an overhang on the sides on my particular model (MIJ Epiphone Les Paul Jr - 1997 - it has weird specs) but so slight, I didn't bother to sand them down (luthers, don't judge me lol) The neck neck now rings more than the saddle! I couldn't stop laughing after I put it on .... GREAT PRODUCT!

25年愛用しているレスポールのナットが割れたので、交換しました。初めて交歓しましたが、元から溝を切ってくれているので全体の幅、高さ調整のみで済みました。調整は耐水ペーパーを使って削りました。

posé moi-meme sur une Epiphone sheraton en remplacement du sillet d'origine , je l'ai enlevé au bout d'une heure . les gorge pour les cordes de sol si et mi aigue étant beaucoup trop larges et profondes , gros buzz et son merdique , dommage la matière semblait de qualité et les dimensions semblaient bonnes .remplacé finalement par un sillet en os chez le luthier du coin .
