Ranger Dina Wakley Media Journal, Paper, Multi-Colour, 26.3 x 20.1 x 2.9 cm

I was so pleased to receive this journal and it looked fantastic. However the watercolour paper is so soft that it does not tolerate water. I found that the surface of the paper peels when adding water to scribble sticks or painting with watercolour. I think I am going to have to paint each watercolour page with gesso to make it usable, but I don’t like using watercolours on gesso. I haven’t yet tried the other surfaces.

The paper is poor quality...bleeds through not good for wet on wet techniques.

I like the idea of this journal and I have watched videos of Dina using it. In practice though, I find it a bit small, and all the threads hanging off it is very distracting, and I'm not actually sure how likely I am to use the burlap to paint on.

Fabric pages fray badly. Paper does not hold up to mediums, lifts, bleeds through to other side. Tried matt medium, gesso and clear gesso. Not really fit for purpose. A disappointing item from Ranger. Would not recommend.

Have enjoyed using the journal, it had lots of pages so it will take a while to fill it. Very happy with my purchase Thanks 😊

Although it said used this was still great for me. It had a little dent and scrape. I painted the cover so it didn't bother me in the slightest
