As a previous reviewer has noted, this adapter works fine in a first generation Canon EOS 5D, which has a Type II CF card slot to accept the thicker Type II flash cards. With a 120 Mb/s high speed high capacity SD card in it, the transfer time to the PC is greatly reduced, and presumably the camera is able to store images just as quickly through the adapter. I have also successfully tested this in my Integral CF Card Reader for the PC, although my PC has an SD card slot, so I can do away with the seperate card reader now. The great advantage with the adapter is that the price of high capacity SD cards is a fraction of Compact Flash cards, so you get the benefits of the high speeds and high capacities of SD in a form that fits your Compact Flash camera. With the caveat that some cameras may not be compatible, according to some reviews, it seems to work very well.

I've had very little luck with generic, unbranded, CF to SD adapters with iPods - but this one works well.

I have a Nikon D100, (two in fact!), and finding an adapter for them is a minefield!D100's are very, very, finicky, and this is my third adapter with limited success!Sometimes, and this one is no different, I have to plug the thing in more than once, to get it recognised. Once it does, it works as expected, the same thing happens in the other camera as well!The problem is one of recognition, not compatibility, there is no fault with the Adapter.There is also the same recognition incompatibility through the adapter when it is recognised, in recognising some memory cards, and giving an 'error message' on perfectly good others!The D100 is one of the few cameras that accept both type 1 & type 2 CF cards, and adapters, which should make it easy, but it doesn't!Nor is it a fault with the cameras, since, (a) both work faultlessly with CF cards, and (b), both have been checked.To sum up, ask the question first before buying, and if like me you can live with the quirks, then go ahead

I use this adapter in a 5D classic camera with a cheapy SanDisk 128GB SD card in it. So far I haven't had any problems whatsoever with the adapter - everything works just fine!One thing I must note - this is a THICK old-style CF card shape! You won't be able to use this adapter in newer cameras and card readers because it will simply not fit into the slot. Works fine with old cameras, such as the 5D, but I think I would have been better off buying the newer gen adapter instead, to be honest,

Beware! There are two thicknesses of CF card. I was totally unaware of this. I thought a CF card was a CF card. I ordered this for my Canon 7D MkII and it was too thick. I have now ordered the correct adapter from another seller.

All my memory cards are sd from a previous camera, and this piece of kit saved me having to buy a whole new set of cf cards.Saved me loads of money.Works a treat
