Mountain King Super Trekker Compact Pole Stay steady on your feet and spare your joints as you tackle tricky ascents and daring descents, with Mountain King's Super Trekker Compact Pole. When using a pair of Mountain King poles, you experience the following benefits: - Reduced weight on your hips and back by 7-11 kg per step. - Uphill walking is made easier as your arms help support your upper body and give extra support to your legs. - Down hill walking is less of a strain on the knees and long descents are less of a challenge. - When crossing streams or boggy ground, Mountain King poles are used to judge depth and increase stability. Using on /off antishock: The antishock is operated by tightening the middle section until a click is felt. Tighten a further quarter turn. At this point the antishock is off. To turn on the antishock simply untighten the middle section slightly to feel the click again. The antishock is now turned on. Pole Care: Proper care of your pole should lead to many hours of problem free use. There are, however, a few basic rules to follow: - Store your pole dry. - Do not clean with any lubricants. - Do not over tighten. - Do not extend beyond the stop markings when using. In addition, here are a few other helpful hints: - Separate the three sections for a smaller pack size when putting poles in a rucksack/suitcase for travelling on aircraft to prevent damage. - If you over tighten your pole - wear a pair of rubber gloves to get a firm grip to loosen the pole (do not twist the pole end caps). - Broken sections can be replaced and we can supply new baskets, ferrules etc. - With switchable on off antishock - switch the antishock off for uphill sections. - Using a pair of poles provides improved stability and ease of walking. - Use a Mountain King rubber ferrule when walking on pavements to prevent the pole slipping.
