Review: Versatile flashlight - It works just fine, I needed a more versatile flashlight than the maglite I had and this fills my needs although when I put some D-cell batteries in it ended up burning out both bulbs the flashlight came with but that might just be a me problem. Review: Cheap - It resembles a military flashlight but it is definitely cheaper. The plastic looks more brittle and easier to break. I don't think it is terrible but it is not great either. It will last if you are not using it out in the feild.

Great NATO knock off flashlight
This is a great old school flashlight that you can count on surviving the majority of situation she’ll throw it out. Being that it doesn’t really have any electronics in it like modern tactical flashlights it has a very good likelihood of surviving the majority of EMP situations even if it’s not inside of a Faraday bag. It has several different colored lenses that can be swapped out. I leave the Redlands in for night vision work. You can unscrew the lightbulb portion of the flashlight and use the contacts underneath it to start a fire with steel wool or a piece of lead. Which is quite handy there’s plenty of extra space for storing any type of tinder you might like to keep in the flashlight, as well as spare bulbs or other small items. You can certainly send Maurice code with this pretty well on this momentary setting. Or a flick the switch all the way up for permanently on. The switch is very protected against accidental turn on’s. Overall this is really a great flashlight. I’ve had several of these flashlights over my life. My first flashlight I got when I was about eight years old in 1964 entering Cub Scouts. Of course the Cub Scout version wasn’t near as sophisticated as the NATO knock off version that this flashlight is.

A nostalgic piece of equipment
A nostalgic piece with 4 color lenses, and a extra bulb that can be found under the spring of the battery compartment. The Rothco G.I. D-Cell Angle flashlight is worth the buy for any military collectors and enthusiasts.
