Great price for a reasonable straight razor.
This is essentially the same razor as the Gold Dollar W59 but relabeled with Kingsland on it and the words Made in China added to the tang. The razor came shave ready (not perfect but good), shaved with this razor and had no issues. I liked the shape and the quality was decent. I will not say this is in the same category as a Boker or other high-end razor but if you're a beginner I see no reason why you would not start with this one. Price is almost the best you're going to find for a reasonable straight razor. Yes, I prefer my vintage razors that are made in Germany but for the price and quality, you can't beat this. A good vintage razor would cost two to three times the price of this razor and it might not be as sharp as this one is. I've had a Dovo Best that was new, listed as shave ready and not as sharp as this one. You will want to sharpen this or send it out to get a great edge on it but it is usable right out of the box.

Not a bad shave
Very good product at a reasonable price point. I am a bit caught up on the big "Made in China" eyesore right on the blade, but it seems to be made well. The handle on mine was comfortable and the blade was easy to handle. It's a small blade compared to other blades I have used but that helps the balance. I prefer a rounded end but that's just personal preference. Sharp out of the box but you will need to strop it just like any other. I can't comment on longevity yet.Overall, for this price I am happy. It's not my Hart Steel but it'll do well for my travel kit.

Very comfortable in my hand.
This is the second straight razor I have ever purchased. I bought this to use in place of one that was difficult to grip due to a poor construction design. This razor however feels and looks phenomenal. Upon receiving it, I opened it and thought it looked fantastic. When I picked it up, I was less than impressed with the handle construction, but it is a low priced razor, so it didn't really bother me that much. I took it out, and took it to the strop. After a good stropping I used it to shave, and everything went great. So, a couple of things about this razor...It doesn't stay sharp for long. I seem to be struggling to keep the edge on this blade in comparison to my other razors. The handle construction seems a little weak, but I have not broken it, or had any real problems with it, and I have used it quite a bit.I personally have an issue with nicking my face with the pointed tip on the edge of the blade. To be fair, this is probably more user error than anything. All in all, this razor looks phenomenal, and the shape of it feels amazing in your hand. Overall it is a good blade for the price.

The best shave ready straight edge for under $100
A straight-edge that is shave ready for a good price?!?! This razor is superior!!! I didn't shave for several days waiting for this to arrive. It showed up, I shaved and actually cut myself. I have not cut myself in the 30 years!!! This is Super SHARP!!!! I am glad I bought it!!! It gets really close. So close that it doesn’t irritate my skin too badly. When I put Tendskin on after shaving, it doesn’t burn as bad as when I use a conventional Gillette. I can not wait to shave again!!!!

Do not buy, it's probably too dangerous to use
Out of the box, I had an amazing experience. It was confusing why there were so many low ratings where they had their blades literally chip off. After two weeks of use I realized why. When I was just stopping the razor, the tip of it broke off. The construction of this razor is far too brittle making it dangerous if it breaks on you while your shaving or stropping it.

Quality is little lower than expected
It’s a neat design and I like that the handle is real wood instead of plastic. But the edge on mine is not straight, I can see rough grind marks from when they were finishing the edge that never got polished up or honed out , it will shave but do not expect to just get this out of the box and not have to clean it up. For the price I believe it is fair , you just have to accept what you get for what you paid If you are actually looking for a razor to have the rest of your life you probably want to spend some more and look elsewhere. If you want something to practice honing and just to start trying a straight razor this would be ok

Great budget razor
I hate it when people buy a $30 razor and talk about how horrible it is compared to their $175 razor. This is a great razor for the money, period. Mine was shave ready out of the box with hardly any imperfections. Highly stylish and weighty, which I like. Very similar to a-lot of custom made razors you would find with a big price tag. Looking for a gift or something different from the others, then look no further.

It will sharpen but not ready to shave ready out of the box.
I was pleased with the actual quality of the blade material. If you have the stones to set the edge then this is well worth the price. If you have the time to strop for a while then you might be able to get it ready to shave but having the correct stones makes it faster. I have access to the equipment so I checked the hardness of the steel and it averaged 62HRC.
