I needed a decently accurate Ph meter for our pond and aquarium. Those stick styles were just not working - between accuracy issues, batteries dying or leaking, or just them breaking from a splash. This unit is a lot of overkill for the weekly testing I perform, but it's spot on. The downside is that it does take up some space in my workshop, and I had to make a dust cover for it - there's a saw in the next room. It *is* dust and splash proof (IP54) but I like my electronics clean. It's not really designed to be taken apart and stored constantly.Large, easy to read and press buttons and detailed backbit display with a combination of icons, text and large numbers. I had to double-check the manual to verify what all the info was. Smiley face? Stable reading. The stand that came with my unit was a pale blue, not ivory.The Ph800 has so many features you really need to read the manual a couple of times to get the most out of it. There's a handy "cheat sheet" included that I keep by the unit. Since many of the buttons serve dual features it's really handy - short press vs long press.Only thing I'd change - I wish it was 12V instead of 9V. That would make it easier if it was needed for field work. Includes calibration solutions, probe, cables, unit and stand.

I love to have a high end version of anything, so even though this is a bit overkill for my needs, it's a great replacement for my previous meter. I'll agree with another reviewer that it really is more for a laboratory or clean-room setup because it's not meant to be taken apart. I also have a problem that my single workshop is not segregated for lab equipment and electronics (but hopefully I'll have another before too long); in the meantime, I give this a deep drawer in my toolbox. I love that it has enough features to need the manual around, but it takes some time to get to know everything you need to know to fully utilize the units features. Thrilled to have it, fantastic accuracy.

This is perfect for my coral reef aquarium because it measures pH, temperature, and ORP (with the optional probe). The desktop unit is large but lightweight (good if you need to pack it for travel) and it has a highly visible display. Here are a couple photos of the display — it is easy to see while standing up, you don’t have to bend over the desk to see what it says. You can also download the measurements to the computer and export to an Excel spreadsheet using the USB cable. The unit is easy to clean in case of chemical spills. Overall I like the accuracy, self-tests, and nice form factor.

We use this product to determine soil pH and it is very straight forward and easy to use. The few time we have used it so far seems to yield accurate results. The package we ordered came with a small sample of buffer solutions which is much appreciated as a lot of pH meters would require that you purchase your own.
