I dont always do a review. I try to be careful on what I buy. I bought my first ember mug from Costco and gave a couple as Xmas gifts. Everyone liked them. I dont have a comparison. I have only used the Ember. I like the convenience of putting my coffee down and coming back to find it still warm. I drink coffee all day. The mug lip is comfortable to use. It is a little heavier than most mugs. But I find this ok because it is less likely to tip over if you bump it because you were reaching for it while reading the paper. It also makes you grip it stronger so you dont drop it. It is a quality product. Not chesply made. The app was easy to use. I keep it at the same tempersture. I started with the 6 oz black mug but ordered on Prime the larger mug. Just right for the amount of coffee I like to drink. When my daughter visits she uses the smaller on for tea. It charges fairly quickly in the base where I keep it. It keeps the coffee warm for my time for drinking the mug. But I am surprised to find it still warm when I have left it for awhile. For me its a great product. Great for a cool morning sitting on the deck. Enjoy life.

I love my Ember so much that I don’t like drinking coffee without it. I’ve even considered taking it on vacation with me. No matter what happens in our busy house, my coffee stays hot. It’s one of my favorite gifts my husband has ever given me.

This mug does not charge unless it is EMPTY. It will maintian temp and battery level (kind of) while on the base and with liquid in it. But don't expect to walk around the house for a few minutes drinking coffee, and then come back and put it in the charger to "refresh" the charge ... it is not designed to work that way ... in fact is specifically designed NOT to work that way. I don't know why they chose this design, but I am constantly battling with my mug. Can you imagine if your phone only charged when off?If you drink coffee throughout the morning or all day ... this is NOT the mug for you. If you drink one cup a day, this might be ok (as long as you completely EMPTY the mug).Very poor design for such an expensive item. Would not recommend and won't buy again.

My daughter got a mug that keeps my drinks hot for as long as I keep it on the base, and that was great, but I wanted something better. I wanted to enjoy my coffee without being stuck to a base. That’s where this comes in! I read a lot of reviews about this product, and even though it’s expensive, I thought it was built better and more reliable than most other mugs, even though a few reviews were negative. I just got it, so maybe there are some issues, but so far, I’m really happy with it.Before I purchased the product, I was a little worried that the amount of coffee that I currently drink would not fit in the size of the mug so there are two sizes available. I got the largest size hoping that it would be big enough, and luckily it was. I can enjoy the same amount of coffee. I have drank every morning for the last 10 years in this new mug.The app is what makes it special, but it’s a bit annoying that I can’t control the temperature without the app. I set my temperature once, and as soon as I pour my drink in the mug, everything turns on.I recently read a review where someone complained about dark stains inside the cup. They said it was probably their fault because they used a metal spoon to stir their coffee. One of the first things I read when I opened my package was not to use metal utensils. I know this mug is pricey, so I would recommend either buying a bunch of plastic spoons or looking for some silicone spoons because you’ll need them.I hope this review helps!.
