Your skin will love you; and if you have psoriasis, you’ve got to try it
I’ve always had good skin (thanks, genetics!) but once I hit 62 things started to change in a not-so-great way. I’ve tried several moisturizers and creams but only had moderate success. I saw reviews for this product and the price was reasonable, so decided to give it a try. I’m very, very pleased. The scent: there is one and it might seem strong to some right out of the tube, but after rubbing it in most of the scent dissipates. Look at the ingredients and you’ll see sunflower, chamomile, rosemary, and lavender. That’s what it smells like; kinda plant-y/herb-y. Kinda earthy. Maybe a smidge medicinal in a health food store kind of way. It’s not an artificial fragrance and no fragrance is added to the product. I’m sensitive to scents. Some open my nose like a faucet. This doesn’t. No reaction at all. Texture: very thick. Goes on white, similar to a diaper cream (almost) or heavy sunscreen. Feels a bit oily at first and takes some effort to get it thoroughly rubbed into the skin, but the heat of your hands gets it to absorb. You’ll feel it on the surface of your skin like a thin protective coating, but as the day goes by that lessens. I have extremely dry skin on my lower legs, and this cream has really helped. I occasionally get plaques from plaque psoriasis (an autoimmune skin disease) on my arms, and this product helps with that a lot. Here’s the real magic: it doesn’t burn! Even when you’ve scratched your skin to within an nth of its life, this doesn’t burn! It’s fabulous. Psoriasis comes from within the body so a cream isn’t going to make it go away, but this one helps to keep the skin from being so obnoxiously flaky, improves skin texture, and strangely seems to help reduce the itching. Since I started using this three weeks ago the skin on my elbows and knees is in the best condition it’s ever been and I’m 66. Not exaggerating. It’s also fantastic as a heel and cuticle cream. My heels used to be awful, and they aren’t anymore. Put this stuff on your hands before bed and put cotton gloves on; your cuticles will thank you. World of difference and I only do that 1-2x a week. It’s also great for taming my mind-of-their-own eyebrow hairs. Nails those puppies right down. I haven’t tried it as a nighttime face cream yet, but I’m going to. This cream is made in Germany and the standards in Europe for skincare are very different. I’m reactive to almost everything it seems and have a plethora of allergies thanks to an overactive autoimmune system, but have had no reaction to this cream (knocking on wood right now). The ingredients list isn’t something that looks like some evil genius’s chemistry project, and that’s reassuring. I’m planning to try the Light version of this for daytime use just to see if there’s any difference, and then use this richer one at night, but I promise I’m not ever going to be without it.

A little goes a long way
So nice. Thick and creamy with a faint clean citrus-vanilla-grass scent. Great on backs of hands and shins, feet, cheekbones and around mouth (or wherever you’re dry) in winter. Absorbs quickly for how thick it is, leaves the faintest glow. I haven’t had good results layering over other lotions, it gets sticky as a top layer. Works best for me as a stand-alone, even with the other products in line (light moisture face lotion, body lotion, and body butter). Highly recommend for dry skin.

Game changer for my skin
I decided to try Weleda Skin Food because my daughter, who is 23, uses it religiously on her face. She is 23 with medium skin tone, and I am 55 with fair skin, so it doesn't necessarily seem like the same product would work for both of us. BUT, I do have pretty dry skin so I thought I'd give it a go. I apply it last, at night, after cleansing, using a nighttime moisturizer and a serum. This occlusive cream is rich, acting like a barrier. I was worried it would sticky -- it doesn't -- and that it would make me break out -- it hasn't. I don't quite look like my 23 year old daughter, BUT my skin looks (and more importantly feels) SO MUCH BETTER. Just plumper and more hydrated. It genuinely reduces the appearance of my forehead wrinkles, including my 11 lines between my eyes. I actually started using it in the winter, because I live in New England and ski a lot, my skin is subject to extreme temps. But I now use it year round and carry it with me on all my travels. It has become a staple in my routine. And let's not even talk about the price point -- so so reasonable! The only thing I don't LOVE about it is the way it smells, but it's not too strong and I can definitely live with it. I'm a huge fan.

Great!
Great non-irritating moisturizer for my sensitive rosacea skin. No burning when using it!! My face feels better and is way less dry, itchy and uncomfortable. No idea how this thick stuff could be used as a makeup primer it’s so thick and takes a while to soak in. I only use it at night. I love how it smells it literally relaxes me.

Lovely product that I hope never changes
I absolutely love this product. I find it to have a pleasant, mild smell and a nice consistency. It is thick but spreads really nicely and gives kind of a sheen to the skin. It absorbs quite well on the body and face. Compared to other plant based creams I’ve used, this one is much less greasy and leaves the skin nicely moisturized without any after effects. I have discovered a specific use for it that cancels the need out for another cosmetic product, namely brow gel. I find this leaves my eyebrows softened and keeps them in place, also gives a bit of shine that is even nicer than the eyebrow gel I’ve bought from sephora. I especially like that Weleda Skin food products are gentle enough to use as an eye cream when you need that extra hydration to fight winter dryness.

I’ve known about this product for years.
I’ve used Weleda lip balm in the pink container for over a decade. It’s the only thing I put on my lips. But never bought Skin Food because i never needed extra oil or moisturizing (ive always had normal skin). But now, in my 50s, i became alarmed to see my facial skin becoming unusually dry. Tight dry facial skin. Very uncomfortable but also it looked awful. I suspect a body wash i started using caused this, moreso than hormonal changes. Because for over a decade I've only used a specific glycerin based bar soap. But i switched to a body wash last month and i do believe it dried my skin out badly. Anyway, it freaked me out, so i bought this and within 3 days of use my facial skin looks and feels so much better. Supple, moisturized, and luminous. Totally back to normal, if not an improvement. I am not a claiming miracles, but as for the restorative and moisturizing benefits, I have seen for myself what Skin Food can do. It works. I will always keep this on hand. One month UPDATE: Still very happy. About to order more. I use it on my face, neck, hands, and feet, daily, but will be using something else on my feet from now on, so I can stretch it out for two months at a time. Love.

Super dry and sensitive skin - This is the only product I can use this on my face
I first purchased this moisturizer about a year ago in October of 2018. I've always had very dry and sensitive skin especially when the weather starts getting cold, despite drinking tons of water and eating clean. I did some research and came across this brand. I saw mixed reviews, some people swore by it and others said it's too thick. Honestly, I was a bit afraid to use it on my face because it appears like it's meant for the body and I thought that it might make me break out if I use it on my face. I tried it anyhow and I loved it. It didn't clog my pores AT ALL. I think it actually improved my skin when I had a breakout. Months later, I downloaded the app "Think Dirty" which tells you how clean or dirty products are on a scale of 0-10, 10 being the most dirty. They base their ratings on the ingredients. I was surprised to find that Weleda Skin Food is one of the few skin care products to rate 0, which is the cleanest you can get. At some point I misplaced it and stopped using it for a while. About a month ago, as the climate started to drop, I noticed my skin getting dry again and decided to go to Sephora for a moisturizer. They recommended Drunk Elephant which has great reviews, but after a few days of using it, my face started to break out. Shortly after, I remembered about my Weleda Skin Food and found it in a drawer almost empty but with a few uses left. I began using it again and it instantly improved my skin so I ordered 2 more bottles. I had to write this review because it's long overdue and different products work for different people. So if you're anything like me, this could be a life changer. Also, some complain about the smell. I think it's pretty subtle and even somewhat pleasant but I guess that's a matter of opinion. As someone noted, if you have SUPER dry skin like me, this won't be too thick at all. It'll be just right, soaking in most of the moisture and lasting all day. Also, if you apply less and rub it in more, it won't be too thick or shiny. Side note, I looked up the Drunk Elephant Moisturizer on the app and it rated a 5, so it's significantly more "dirty" than Weleda which could be correlated to my skin's reaction.

Absolutely not sensitive skin approved
I have seen RAVING reviews from all over, but MUA’s in particular that made me pull the trigger on this. I will say, it absolutely makes my VERY dry and dehydrated skin look flawless with makeup. Truly, a dream. However, and the reason for only three stars, as others have said, it does have a very strong fragrance and has caused my skin to seriously hate me. I didn’t want to believe it was this product because of how good my makeup was coming out, so I started rubbing a little on my hand and dabbing my makeup brush on there just to pick some up to blend my foundation in rather than a full lather. Nope. I definitely do have super sensitive skin, so if you don’t, you’ll likely be okay. I didn’t mind the thickness because as someone with very dry skin, any moisturizing product I use feels like diaper cream 😂 I don’t mind thick, but I am genuinely nervous for how long it’ll take to repair my skin after the damage this unfortunately caused. It’s been extremely red, blotchy, and generally just irritated. I naturally have clear skin with some occasional redness every now and again. But with this… my skin is angry 24/7 at this point, with or without using it. Seems it’s been aggravated enough from using this a few times a week for about a month, so I’m hoping my clear skin returns after some barrier repair 😅

The Best!
I use this as a night cream, it smelled beautiful and is so nourishing without feeling greasy. I even started using it under my makeup when doing a full face makeup. Skin stays hydrated and glowy! Heard about it through Bella Hadid on IG so I had to try it. Will purchase again and again!

Great all natural and organic moisturiser
I have now purchased this moisturiser a number of times such is my appeal for this organic product by Weleda. It makes a great winter barrier moisturiser especially when your face is exposed to the harsh cold winds and driving rain and then the drying effects of central heating within the home. The consistency is rather thick which makes you wonder if it is suitable for the face but really it is. Just a few small dabs applied on the areas deemed necessary then massage in with a slow, gentle circular motion. Initially your face will look greasy but this disappears pretty quickly as it absorbs deep within. You now have a protective barrier making your skin look hydrated and really healthy. It actually gives you a youthful glow. I use this pretty much all year round alongside a sunscreen by Brickell as I am outdoors a lot, either at work or recreational and I am keen to keep my skin looking at its best despite being male. The smell is quite unique and obviously all natural. It smells rather botanical in a herbal kind of way which I actually like. Lastly, being organic is a great plus and reassuring that no unpleasant and unnecessary chemicals reside in the tube to eventually make their way into your body with unknown consequences!!! Really happy and will continue using this product forever more !!!
