Fantastic for pulling out finishing nails---through the FRONT SIDE!
I bought a new stereo system, and set it up in my LR. It is wall-to-wall carpeting, with cove molding baseboard around it.It was too tight to try to pry the carpet away from under the baseboard to jam the speaker wire under it, , and that could have ruined and scrached the baseboard with whatever mini-pry tool I used. After removing the 4 10-ft pieces, I planned to re-use them, but at 1/8 inch higher, as a channel for the speaker wire.I knew I could slowly pry the baseboard away from the wall by jamming a very flat chisel or knife between it and the wall, slowly twisting/prying it all along, a few inches at a time. The problem was how to the get the 2 1/2 inch bent finishing nails out, without scuffing and scratching the smooth face of the baseboard by using a small pry bar etc., with tape or fabric against the front of it so it wouldn't scratch.Well, I found this modified pliers tool, where one uses the pliers to hold the bent nail near the bottom that is sticking out the BACK of the baseboard, and then push it downward, using the "roll bar" , built into the pliers. One tight, slow push down on the pliers, while squeezing the nail, and VOILA! the intact bent nail came through the INSIDE face of the baseboard! So, no worries about scratching the baseboard, and by probing the area, it was easy to find the exact hole that was already there. That hole may not exactly match up with the one in the sheetrock, but that should not be a big problem.A couple of tips:---This will only work with finishing nails, or brads.---The new nail you'll use often fits into that hole without being loose. If it is a little loose, just go up to the next thickness. That will keep it tight, and not be such a difference it might cause a hairline, or larger, crack.---Before clamping the pliers on the bent nail, bend the nail a little in the same direction the pliers will be pulling it out, just push with a finger if its a longish nail, or tap it with a hammer if it's a short nail .This makes it a lot easier to keep the ppliers tight as you squeeze it, and then pull the nail out.---The pictures on Amazon help, but there is a short youtube video not on Amazon, under "Apex Tool Group" "Crescent Nail Puller Video".Enjoy!

Even Better than Expected
I'm legitimately impressed with this nail puller. I used it to pull truss carrier nails (5" ring shank nails), and it worked great. Works way better than a crowbar and doesn't destroy the wood either.

Solid tool for the arsenal.
It is a little different. Need to make sure that you let the tool do the work and do not drive it into the nail with the jaws closed. It will take a nibble of wood to get to the head of a set nail.I have found that it pulls both nails and staples out straight. You really can re-use the nails - they really pull straight if you do it right. Weak , corroded nails will cut through without chipping the edge of the jaws.Photos of chipped jaws in the other reviews? No idea how that could happen with correct use.It is one of several tools to use, not necessarily for every nail that one may encounter in the world.

Sturdy but doesn't work well for nails with smaller heads
The media could not be loaded. The Crescent 11" Nail Puller Pliers feel sturdy and provide good grip and leverage for pulling long nails.Specs not shown on product Information section:- Max opening when jaws are fully opened = 17/32" (~13.5mm)- Minimum opening (gap) when jaws are fully closed = almost 1/16" (~1.6mm)The "About this item" section says "Dual handles make it quick and easy to grip, roll, and remove nails or staples"I found it hard to grab and pull staples. The problem is with the 1/16" gap when the jaws are fully closed. If Crescent designed the jaws to have teeth aligned at the opening (see drawing) then it'd have been a 5-star design with better grip even for the small staples, etc.I'd give it 3.5 stars but Amazon only allows whole points. Overall, these pliers are nice to have.

16d Ring Shanked Galvanized Nails (3 1/2 " long) ripping out of old salt treated deck.
Might seem a little pricey, however. this is the first nail puller I've used that actually works. Believe me, I've tried them all.It tool me about 10 minutes to pull 6 nails out of 5/4 decking driven into 2 x 8 salt treated joist. Those nails had been there for over 15 years.I'm 72 years old.....and slow and steady is the name of my game. You won't be disappointed.

Talk about an EASY button!
If you’re looking for a tool to make nail and staple pulling a breeze, THIS IS YOUR TOOL FOR IT! Wish I’d known these existed before now. I have spent several minutes at times to pull fencing staples out of wood posts. This thing makes it easy. This is a genius tool! It is heavy duty and very well made! If/when I lose this one, I will definitely buy a replacement!

Amazing tool.
Insane. I never leave reviews but I just felt I had to for this tool. One of the best freaking tools I’ve ever used. So simple but makes the job so effortless. Highly recommend for flush nails.
