Nice simple unit to run DVD/CD on a laptop. Most new laptops do not have a CD drive anymore. But I have numerous CD with photos on and need a way to edit/copy/print them. This unit is perfect. Plugs into a USB-A and works. When not needed goes back into a nice, included case until next time. Recommended.

I used this with my MacBook Air to burn and watch dvds. This was perfect and I bought another as a present. I bought it so I could transfer old family vhs tapes for my siblings for a Christmas present last year. It worked without any issues and I would highly recommend it.

Well made and works well. Very easy to connect and set up. I would like the ability to turn off the sequential flashing lights.

After careful research into external drives for my PC, I chose the ROOFULL New USB 3.0 External CD DVD Drive with Ethernet Adapter. After ordering I quickly was contacted by the seller with the link for a manual for the product. When I received the drive, the manual quickly became very handy as I had hooked it up incorrectly due to my haste to use it. Once that was sorted out, I quickly ripped a CD onto my computer with no problems. I haven't used all the features yet, but I do not anticipate any problems. The customer service has already proved to be excellent which is comforting to know should any issues pop up. I would definitely recommend this external drive!

I needed an external CD drive for a new laptop. The description for this one met all of my needs and there were plenty of positive reviews. The item arrived quickly and was well packaged. The drive comes with two USB cables; one that is attached to the drive and securely fits in a groove on the bottom of the drive. Very convenient! I plugged it in for the first time and within five seconds it was ready to rip. I ripped four CDs into my ITunes folder the first time I used the device and there were no issues. The drive also comes with a very nice, well padded carrying case that has a zippered pouch on it to store the paperwork and spare USB cable. I wasn't expecting that. It makes it so much easier to carry around and travel with. If you are looking for a reasonably priced CD drive, look no further, this one is great!

I was in search for a USB disc drive to use with my computer, a computer that does not have a disc drive. I spent a lot of time looking on Amazon, and soon realized that the majority of disc drives advertised did not have a good performance record after reading the many reviews on the sight. One however stood out to me. It was the Roofull ECD829Y. I bought it and it worked very well for me in installing software and viewing or listening to other discs I had. After a short time however, it stopped playing. As it turned out, it was a software issue, not the drive's fault. Along with the instructions for use that came with the unit and warranty information, there was troubleshooting information also included in case problems were incurred. The last sentence in the "need help?" section, in case of difficulties, "Just hope you're not angry and could give us an opportunity to make things right for you", was also enclosed. Well I did have some difficulties, and it took several days to work out the glitch that caused it to not work. Rick at Roofull certainly did make it right. It took a lot of back and forth to make it so, but my disc drive is now working again. Additionally, I really like it. I haven't tried the copy function, but the rest is very satisfactory. I am well pleased. It is really satisfying to have a company really mean "give us an opportunity". Thanks again Rick. I am really glad I chose your company for my purchase. Top notch!

Here is my early opinion on this disc drive after playing and ripping a few audio and data CDs: Pros -- It comes with lots of ports and features for a relatively low price. -- The power cable holder being built into the bottom of the device is helpful for traveling. -- It is truly plug and play on my Windows 11 Lenovo laptop. You don't have to download any additional software or install any drivers if you already have Windows Media Player or something similar. -- The CD reading and CD ripping speeds are neither slow nor fast, just about what you'd expect from those tasks. It took around 5 minutes for it to open and extract a data CD containing a 700 MB zip file. And it took roughly 5 minutes to rip a 280 MB music CD into .WAV lossless audio files. -- You can get a free 2-year warranty extension after emailing the manufacturer your order number. Cons -- The power cable is shorter than I would have liked. You will have to set this drive right next to your PC's USB port. -- It's so lightweight that the whole thing moves when I push the disc tray back into place after opening it. The mechanical eject button only works for sliding the tray out, not pushing it back in. -- The super highpitched whining noise that it makes while functioning is a bit ear-grating. If you have a high sensitivity to sound, you'll want to wear noise-cancelling headphones while using this drive. -- The ROOFULL logo sticker on top of the device looks cheap, so I just peeled it off so that it wouldn't be such an aesthetic eyesore. -- Whoever's packing this company's shipments is putting A LOT of faith into their foam carrying case, because that's the only protection it shipped with inside of a thin plastic bag. Final Verdict With all that said, for only $30, I'd still say that the cons are mostly just nitpicks and not dealbreakers. I currently plan on keeping this drive and just dealing with the fact that it's good but less than perfect.

Quality seller, item delivered safely (well packaged) after ordering. Great communication from seller with follow-up email to check satisfaction with product and copy of manual for the item. Simply plugged it into my pc and started working.

This external CD DVD drive has been great to use. It connects quickly with either USB 3.0 or USB-C with the built-in wire that are attached to the bottom of the unit. The drive feels solid and reads discs reliably. I also like that it comes with a protective carrying case which makes it easy to store when not in use

i just bought this product and it is really so good and easy to use , easy portable as well as coming with nice good looking bag which can help me to carry along when travel . the best thing that i like that does not need any driver to play .. so i can use all my DVDs with no problem to worry .
