USUAL LEDLENSER QUALITY, FUNCTIONALITY & FULL FEATURES

As you get older, half of vision problems are down to not enough light reaching the retina. Increasing illumination allows those with dodgy eyesight see a lot better. I know it sounds obvious, but in fact, even if your eyes are ok, and mine aren't that bad only -2.5, extra light helps massively.I have used it to assemble some flatpack Ikea furniture, my wife bought for my son. It made a massive difference (after my wife and teenage son had stopped taking the p*ss!) The light has an auto-brightness combined with autofocus which determines how much light is being reflected and sets the light intensity accordingly. It will also automatically focus the beam, dependent on proximity of objects where you're looking. It has multiple modes. These range from automatic, to low power using only 1 LED, through to 1000 Lumen Burst mode for 10 seconds which will do serious damage to your eyes if you stare too long. It also includes RGB leds, useful for those who will use this outdoors for hiking/camping. I actually use the Red LED when I come to bed after my wife has gone to sleep. She sleeps lightly, and if I use my phone, even on low power LED, she will wake up. Then I get the moans about having to get up early etc. The red mode LED, really stops me being denied my conjugal rights! (LOL!) That in itself is worth the price!I have only two small gripes. Firstly, the lamp when worn as intended, can only by tilted downwards. This might sound OK, but I have a special use case. I have had vertebra fused in my neck, so have a seriously reduced looking up range. This is why I kept it at 5 stars, because this is only a fraction of the public. Secondly, at full price, it's just short of £170. I got it for £118 in the Black Friday sale. It's now £99, and that's really good value. One might argue there are cheaper headtorches, and that is undeniably true. However, ever since I bought an ex-g/f a Ledlenser Dive Torch (she used to dive under Brighton Pier (even in winter) for loot)) I have always owned a Ledlenser. Back in the 90s, I bought a 6 D cell Maglite. That was the torch to have. I now have a P17R which in terms of build quality knocks the spots of the old US brand. Ledlenser warranties its products for 7 years. They must be pretty confident to do that, and when you amortise the cost across 7 years, it's not that much.Overall, this is a superb head torch. It's the top of the range (of this series) and it's packed with amazing features. BUY IT!! IT'S DOTTORE APPROVED!!!

High quality, well thought out.
It's bright, light and doesn't wobble about.I use it to run on dark paths and trails at night and dog walks.I'm never buying a crap cheap head torch again because of how well this was built so yes it is worth it.I didn't think i would need the colour settings, but they are ace when you want to be seen without dazzling everyone or thing around you.

Excellent product
Great headlamp, a little heavy if your just wearing it against you forehead as you need to adjust the straps. But that is a really minor issue. Very comfortable to wear.If you need a headlamp to wear for work this is the one for you.
