TOMY Megasketcher (Pink)

I was a bit skeptical when I bought it because some of the reviews were pretty negative. Now my 4 year old has played with it for a few days and I can't see anything negative about it at all. It's very good for writing on because it has such high resolution. The result when writing and drawing looks just like in the pictures at Amazon. The pen doesn't get lost because of the string, which is really good. My 4 year old can erase himself without any problems. It just takes one swipe. I tried writing a bit harder and then it took up to 5-6 swipes depending on how hard I pressed with the pen. It doesn't look better if you press harder, so there is absolutely no reason to press harder than what can be erased with one single swipe. Someone complained that the four "stamps" are hard to remove, but it's more about how you remove them. There are two small hooks holding them in one end, so just remove them the way they are supposed to be removed and it's not that hard at all.

Endless fun for my grand daughter, takes a bit of a bashing but stands up to any punishment. Well worth purchasing to keep those little minds active.

We love these and have gone through a few of them with my now 5yo daughter. We have bought a few different makes in that time and the Tomy ones really are the most durable. The pen is a good quality and I love that the slide is at the side on this one, It's quite a big toy but I find that it makes it more durable for when the 1yo goes stomping about the living room. Both girls love it and I wouldnt be without one, I think they make lovely gifts as well. I love how it can be a non messy creative toy but we also use it to practice letter and number recognition and also now writing!

We had one of these for our eldest daughter about 6 years ago and it was ace, so we thought we would buy another for the youngest, as it was sooo ace! But how wrong could I be? At first it all appeared as normal, just how I remember it, you got all the components you had before a pen attached to a cord, then a few small stencils...a paw, a splat, a house and a swirl...all destined to be mislaid at some point. But I noticed after a few uses a dark line appeared that would not disappear. Ok it is not bothering my youngest daughter, but I can clearly see it, and no matter how many times I swipe to clear it, it just will not go. My youngest loves it, she uses it constantly and it saves on paper use, so all good. But it is made of plastic...boo! So save a rainforest, but more to landfill... Would I recommend, yes, even though ours is a tad faulty, I am sure not all are like it, but marked down slightly because of this. Has kept my daughter fully entertained with both her drawings and her guessing my drawings. She’s 2.5 and the size is perfect for to sit at the table and draw. But also to pick up and carry around with her

Very unimpressed that I bought this for my daughter for Easter and upon opening it, I found there to be a stamp missing. I remember having Tomy Megasketchers as a child and they were much better quality then they are now. The screen is poor quality. The eraser has to be pulled across several times before it clears the picture. The erasers used to be motorized and no longer are. I was really happy with the colour of the item, but to be honest that's about the only thing!

This is brilliant! So useful for travelling or playing at home. Use it for drawing etc but also more recently when teaching letters and numbers and how to write. My daughter loves copying what I have written and will do so for AGES! Definitely feel this has been helping her to read and write because it has helped keep it fun.

I bought this as an alternative to the etch-a-sketch but I will be buying one of those as a replacement for this soon. The good points of this Tomy one are that it has a pen attached to the board by a string so it can't be lost and comes with a small selection of stamps with it that create pretty shapes on the board which clip onto the board for safe keeping. The major downside though is the actual board surface - it is terrible and ours was ruined after it's first use. There is a handle at the side of the board that is supposed to wipe it clean when swiped up or down but ours doesn't clean the whole board - it reaches about 90% of the board and then won't go any further. My daughter drew a picture on first go all over and now we have a line at the top of the board that refuses to clean away, meaning it is always dirty at the top, ruining any new picture she draws. It also needs a good four or five swipes with the handle every time she uses it to clean the rest. I wouldn't buy again given the opportunity.

Very good for kids except product for teaching

Love it!..the color is nice. Well packed and delivery is quick. Though, you need to do multiple "up-down erase" mode to clear the sketch board. Other than that, Satistied with the product.

A la hora de comprar dudaba entre varias pizarras y sin duda ha sido una compra fantástica. Diseño bonito y los niños lo pasan genial jugando con ella. La pantalla es lisa, no tiene el típico nido de abeja de alambre que tienen la mayoría de estas pizarras, que se ve y hace la apariencia más fea. Al principio parecía que costaba un poco borrarla pero con un poco de uso se borra genial con 2 o 3 pasadas. Muy buena compra

Bon produit agréable d'utilisation pour l'enfant même de moins de 3 ans. Mais obliger de faire 4 ou 5 fois la molette pour enlever les motifs.. Mais très bon produit
