Handy variable adapter ring
The media could not be loaded. This is a very handy variable adapter ring. Twist and grip the ring, mounts freely on my 72, 77mm lenses without having to screw threads that tend to get stuck on the lens. For those who want to travel light to shoot, then I would recommend

Very useful and interesting accessory
I have so many stepping rings for various filters, and often times they end up getting lost or misplaced. This variable ring is a unique idea that I didn't think would work, but boy was I wrong. It works exceptionally well and provides a great value or getting multiple rings. I keep it in my camera bag at all times to use with my filters and recommend getting one if you see the convenience of this one.

Novel and effective
The media could not be loaded. Novel and effectiveAn alternative to buying separate step-up rings for each lens. Typically 67mm, 72mm, 77mm. That's exactly what I've been doing. Each of my lenses has a brass step-up ring going to 82mm which is my chosen filter size. If on the other hand you have a single set of step up rings for each size, you'd often have to swap rings if you have multiple lenses at the same filter size. The device presents the alternative. The setup ring is aluminum. While there are instructions, the use is very intuitive. Twist the ring and the center blades extend. You then place it on the lens and the spring contracts it to the appropriate size. One niggle is that you have to maintain tension while placing it on the lens. The knurled edge makes this an easy twist though.Another nice feature is that this step-up ring is both threaded and magnetic. This gives you maximum flexibility when choosing your filter sets. While one might choose to go with individual step-up rings for each lens, there may be times when you're renting or borrowing a lens or otherwise, acquiring a lens that you haven't purchased an additional step-up. This gives you an immediate solution.I do wish it extended down to 62mm or even smaller diameters, these days, as lenses do come in a wide variety of diameters. While you might not use this as a default if you purchase separate step-up rings for each lens, this provides an alternative to that and certainly solves the problem when you have short term lenses for specific shoots.

Super useful, good construction
For years I've been buying 82mm filters as my standard size and then an assortment of different sized step-up rings to fit them on my different lenses (I can always step up to the large filter on smaller lenses, but can't necessarily step down to a small filter on a large lens without vignetting). So when I saw this variable diameter ring, I immediately knew I wanted to try it out. The design is super smart and would make my kit so much simpler than digging though a pile of rings to find the correct one.So, now that I have it in hand, is it what I was hoping for? Yes, in most ways. The spring loaded "iris" is super simple to use and works pretty well. It does take some getting used to, as I normally rotate the rings onto the lens until they stop, but this one I just stick on and then give it a partial turn until it's snug, but not too tight as that'll make the threads jump, which probably isn't too great for them long term.I tested in on a few different lenses I had sitting around, ranging from 67-77mm, and it was quick and easy on them all. I will note that if you attach a filter that can rotate (such as a rota-pola), you may have to hold this adapter as you rotate the filter so that the holder doesn't spin as well.Construction feels quite solid with the metal construction. The weight it pretty decent as well and shouldn't cause any added fatigue when handholding your camera. The included pouch is a little small, making getting the adapter in and out slightly less easy than necessary, but the fabric is stretchy, so it's not too bad.Overall, I'm pleased with this. It's a very smart solution to the various step-up ring adapter problem and works quite well. Fortunately, most my lenses live in the 67-82mm diameter threaded front range, so this one ring covers pretty much all my use cases. While I'll keep my other rings as backups/spares, I really don't see myself using them now that I have this instead.

Can serve multiple lenses as long as these lenses are within scope
I have this step up adapter from 67 mm diameter lens to 82 lens filter. Well, actually this adapter also works for my other lenses with the diameter of 77 mm. Plus, it gives me an option of having a lens with 72 or 82 mm lenses in the future. As for filters, I can keep all the filters at 82 mm to ensure optimal compatibility. This adapter is designed smartly that it can work with lenses with 4 different diameters. Other lenses would need at least 3 step up adapters to be compatible. This adapter is well built with aluminum. It's not heavy at all. When I rotate it, I can feel the spring inside the adapter. Once a filter is attached to one side and a lens to another side, this adapter fits really well. The connection is not loose. With this adapter, I don't need to buy filters at different sizes for different lenses. I can get a set of Polarizer, UV and ND filters.
