Works very well. Heats up rapidly. I’ve also used it to melt wax on skis for spot touch-ups.

I've been looking for a shrink tubing that could fit over a 3.5mm headphone jack but still shrink down enough around the cable itself. I have to say this 4:1 ratio tubing did a pretty good job. It did take much more heat to properly shrink compared to prior 2:1 tubing I've used in the past. I had to break out a lighter to get it to shrink. It didn't catch fire or melt though so it is fire proof LOL. It does get really rigid after shrinking compared to other shrink tubing I've used. The thickness of the tubing shrunk down is pretty thick, so if you want something that remains soft and bendable after shrinking this isn't it. In my case this is OK because my headphone wire started fraying at the wire/jack junction so it not bending at that location is probably a good thing.Some of the pieces came bent/dinged/distorted, but they give you a ton of them for $8 so I can deal with that. After shrinking it seems to even out anyways.Only other wish was they offered it in white but oh well. You can get 3:1 in white but for my application I don't think that would have been enough shrink ratio as the 4:1 just made it.

The heat gun and shrink tube work fine. A good assortment of tube sizes is provided and so far work as expected.However, the product description mentions twice that it comes with a "storage case".Most of us would assume that means some sort of plastic storage case or something similar. Nope. The "storage case" mentioned is just the flimsy cardboard box it ships in. Sure, you can store the gun and tubing in there, but its all crammed in with no order and you have to dump everything out to get what you need. It won't take much time for this "storage case" to start falling apart, especially once it is wet. I bought this item to use on the wiring on my boat, so a cardboard case is not realistic. In the end I had to spend another $5 on a plastic storage case that houses the heat gun and shrink tube. Had I known this when purchasing I would have bought a different item that included a real case.Make sure you are aware of this when purchasing.
