Abus Granit 1000/100 Steel-O-Flex Cable Lock - Black

I bought one in 2011. It failed in 2014. I bought another. It has just failed (August 2017). Shall I try a third, or, like Dr Johnson commenting on re-marriage, would that be "the triumph of hope over experience"? I fear so, so I shall try a different lock.

This is a great lock. My advice to anyone who has to leave their bike locked up in public - I leave mine locked up outside Clapham Junction station - is to use two locks, one of these and a D-lock. I bought this to replace a similar lock which I had for many years but which eventually began to play up. This one is far lighter, which suits me just fine.

I bought this when my old Giant flexi-lock got cut through in London (di** **ads) and it's great. Feels totally solid and is light enough to be comfortably carried around my waist for all but the longest rides (I'm a 34" waist). Some people have mentioned they don't like the key mechanism as it doesn't pop in to lock but once you're used to it then it's fine and actually feels more secure. Combine it with a kryptonite D and you're golden.

The best compromise between weight and level of security.light product but yet very effective. It can be cut with a bolt chopper but it won't be an easy job.

An ideal lock for your motorbike, sturdy and lightweight,which just fits around the lamppost and rear wheel, although I do use a disc lock as well just to make life a little more difficult for would be thieves.

Great lock. Have 6 of these and use nothing else. Look out for bargain prices on Amazon. GBP37 was an amazing price!

A really good lock. It is heavy duty, robust and feels very secure. The lock is sturdy and finish makes me believe it is very well made. It was a relatively good price. The only downside is carrying it but it is not too difficult to wear it over your shoulder or put it in your bag if it is a decent sized bad. It is a heavy lock but this is what I wanted. I would definitely recommend.

A bit too heavy to be carring around. Doesnt really have a dedicated attachment to the bit and since it is hard to bend, you have to think where to fit it. Also inserting key to open/close can be cluncky in winter (ie with gloves).
