6 x Kilner 1.5lt Square Clip Top Jars

Bought these with several uses in mind. I make cultured yogurt and wanted storage jars so that I could take some to my daughter in law easily and know she would store it well in these & unlikely to break it.I also moved to a flat that has a silverfish problem & wanting to protect my stored dry ingredients I’ve been using these jars for this too.Lastly I’ve been experimenting with making soft fruits last well after being washed in white vinegar and water solution then refrigerated in glass jars. This has been a resounding success too.Downside is also an upside depending on your point if view and subject but concerns that fast that the lids are not able to be separated from the jar. In a dishwasher loading it sensibly would be easier if they were separate though I appreciate the together design is with its rubber seal part of how it retains its robust airtightedness. Yes that is a word! Buy some and stop arguing

Kilner are in my view top of the range when it comes to storage and preserving jars. This is so obvious to anyone who is in the market for storage jars but government lockdown and a few hours to kill I thought what the heck ley try and review a storage jar on Amazon.So it is made of the incredible see through material called glass. Reasonably thick so it doesn't shatter or break easily (although don't try dropping it) the glass is durable and will last or years. The see through nature of the jar means not only is it immediately obvious what you have stored in the jar but also allows the contents of the jar to provide their own sense of decoration on the side of your kitchen as well as a handy indictator as to when the contents of your jar may need replenishing.The glass lid is attached by a metal hinge and rubber seal which ensures that the contents of the jar remain dry and fresh.Top tip use a dry marker pen to label the contents of the jar useful so you don't mix up dry dog and cat food.These jars are medium sized so make sure you get the right size for what you want to store.

Great for keeping things air tight in. I got these to put my baking supplies such as sugar and flour in. It keeps the cupboard tidy as I dont have open packets spilling on the shelves.The jars are sturdy and easy to wash out, it can be a bit of a struggle to put the jars back together again sometimes requiring 2 pairs of hands, but once together they are great.

Sturdy, high quality Kilmer Jars. Plenty of volume to hold the kitchen essentials like rice.

It took me two attempts to get these. The first seller was 'Kitchen Equipment Supplies' and the first photo is how they arrived. A bit of cardboard and tape, no bubble wrap or loose fill and almost guaranteed to break.Miraculously only one did break but the box was full of tiny shards of glass and a huge safety hazard.Amazon, as usual, gave me a full refund without any fuss and I re-purchased from JDS Online. The second photo shows that they did a great job and I now own enough bubble wrap to last a couple of years (or one very interesting date night!)All's well that ends well.As for the jars - terrific.!The correct dimensions are:Height: 20.0cm (I have 20.5cm shelves so this measurement was critical and they are exactly 20cm)Width: 13.5cmDepth: 12.4cmThe jars ARE square but the clasp makes them wider. I place them with the clasp to the front so that I get more on the shelf, although the Kilner logo is such that the clasp would be facing right to have the logo showing.I label my jars using an acrylic pen, which works just great.Price-wise I paid £26.75 the first time and £23.07 the second time. If you need to buy a couple of single items to complete your shelf then Sainsbury's are currently selling them for £4.25 each.I hope this review proves useful to you. These kilner jars are simply the best on the market in my opinion, tick every box, well made, quality glass heavy duty clasps and excellent seal quality......delighted with my purchase
