Can the adapter plate be removed? And if it can, would it be possible to mount this unit on a Bridgeport Z axis?

Trying to get a complete answer for this myself. Partial answer is yes, that this model is for sale elsewhere with an adapter kit for the Z axis, but what that kit consists of beyond the power unit I am unable to find. Detailed info on this would be useful if anyone has it since the price about triples when you get one that works on the Z axis vs. the X axis versions.

What size is the keyway on the brass gear? 3mm or 1/8”? My bridgeport series 1 has 1/8” key.

As 253 answered, you’ll have to file/broach the keyway on the bevel gear to accommodate the 0.125 key. Other than this, I used this power feed without any other modifications on my 1980 BP series 1 2hp mill.
