Recovery of some of the irony of the beginning.
Green Day still feel the responsibility of rock agitators of 2004, but they have stopped taking themselves too seriously, while recovering some of the irony of their beginnings, duly filtered by the sarcasm and hindsight of fifty-year-olds.The most immediate fruits of this new balance are "The American Dream Is Killing Me", a "Strange Days Are Here To Stay" with a fast-paced chorus and the sparkling track that gives the album its title. It's difficult not to be immediately captivated by the killer chorus of "One Eyed Bastards" or to end up under "Coma City", on the end of which the bass and drums hit like in the good old days.Age also brings a bit of melancholy, which, duly accompanied by Armstrong's gigantic melodic talent, produces various ballads, such as the excellent "Suzy Chapstick" and the (perhaps a little too) saccharine "Father To A Son"."Saviors" is not a perfect album, God forbid. However, it is a great pleasure to find one of the most iconic pop-rock bands of the 90s in this state of form and freshness, once again at ease and full of meaning and contextuality that it seemed to have lost.

Green Day are back!
This was such a relief to hear. There is a good amount of real bangers (Classic Green Day sound), plenty of sing along anthem type chorus's, a few slow songs which are also pleasant on the ear. It has some great wacky song titles and a couple of filler songs, but even those are still O.K. A huge step up from the last album. This album rocks, it would have been nice though if on a couple of the real fast numbers they used heavier and crunchier sound on the guitars but this is only a mild issue and doesn't spoil it at all. I will be blasting this on repeat for the next few weeks!. Welcome back Green Day.
