Fantastic, Stress-Relieving Clock for Elderly Relatives
I purchased this extra-large digital clock for my elderly mother-in-law, and it has been an absolute game-changer for her daily routine. The Pros:- Incredibly Easy to Read: The 11.5-inch high-definition display is massive and perfectly clear. She can read the time, day, and date from all the way across the room without straining her eyes.- Thoughtful Visual Aids: The customizable Sun and Moon icons are a brilliant touch. They help her instantly recognize whether it is morning or night, which significantly reduces her time-related anxiety.- Hands-Free Convenience: The talking time announcement and the included remote control make it effortless to manage. We can adjust settings or customize her reminders without having to take the clock down from the wall.- Set and Forget Reminders: The custom reminders are excellent for scheduling medication times and drinking water throughout the day. Plus, the auto-DST feature means we never have to worry about manually adjusting it twice a year. The Cons:- None! It does exactly what it promises and has brought a lot of peace of mind to our family. It even comes in discreet packaging that leaves off words like "memory loss," which is a wonderful, respectful touch for the recipient. If you have an aging parent or relative dealing with memory loss or low vision, this is one of the most useful and thoughtful gifts you can get them.

If you love someone with memory issues - get this!
My wife and I are well into our seventies and dealing with the many adjustments that come with our age. Being well into retirement and away from the rigid scheduling of regular employment it sometimes becomes problematic to maintain a sense of passing time. While I have, so far, managed to mostly avoid the more frustrating memory difficulties, my wife has gradually progressing issues which necessitate modifications in the way we do things. While we continue to work with doctors to do everything we can to counter the effects of advancing age we also have to make whatever adjustments we can think of to deal with issues that arise. One of those has been a sense of the passage of time. She often loses track of what day or date it is and since she has me around it is easy to ask, "What day is it?" and get a ready answer from me. But often the answer doesn't register well and it can lead to the question being repeated - on occasions three or four times within an hour. While I can and do readily provide an answer, I confess that I am only human and still working on improving my caregiving skills, so that sometimes I am unable to avoid the tiniest bit of frustration creeping into my voice as I answer her for the third or fourth time. She senses this and it upsets her, which upsets me because the very last thing I want to do is make any of this more difficult for her.I thought that this calendar/clock might be helpful. Placed below our television as you can see in the picture it is clearly visible in the entire living room yet unobtrusive. Not only does it display the date, day of the week and time in a clearly readable format, but it even shows such things as "predawn" or "afternoon" so there is no confusion as to am or pm times. Initial setup was as easy as it gets and while at this point we really don't have a need for the considerable number of alarms or reminders you can set it's nice to know they are there. Likewise, it's nice to have a remote control for the device although I doubt that it will be very useful to us so it will remain in the box for now so I don't lose it. The instructions are much, much better and clearer than what is standard for most electronic devices I've encountered, which often feature English that ranges from amusing to completely indecipherable. On the subject of the available alarms, you have five pre-labled alarms (wake up, three medication reminders and a "drink water" reminder) and fifteen reminders you can customize to display unique messages with the use of a USB drive to create the messages on your computer and transfer them to the clock. While this is a nice feature, I want to suggest that the makers of this clock could make it exponentially more useful by expanding on this concept. These reminders can be set to display on a specific day of the week, every day of the week, Monday through Friday only, or weekends only. If they could simply expand this feature to include the ability to set a reminder for a specific day of the year, these reminders could be used to display birthdays, anniversaries, doctor's appointments and so forth. I would readily trade the remote control for this added feature!Even without this potential addition, I give this product a rock-solid five star rating. I was concerned that it might be too overpowering. It is not - at all. I was concerned that my wife would not receive it well. She understands the adjustments we've needed to make and is delighted with this solution. I fully expect that we'll be purchasing another one soon for use in the bedroom. Thank you for a product that has already proven its worth and solved a small but otherwise unavoidable problem for us.

Makes life easier for mom
This clock is fabulous! I got it for my 100 year old mom. It's bright and loud enough for her to use and it's ability to remind her to take meds, drink water, attend appointments, and know the day and date is fantastic. If you are on the fence, get off. Great tool to help live life!

This clock is perfect and a lifesaver for me
I love this clock. Not only is it a clock but it gives me the date and day of the week. The display is large enough for me to read from across the room. There are options for reminders and alarms. Comes with a remote.Once I stopped working, it was hard to keep track of the day of the week and the date. All I need to do is glance at the clock to know exactly. The clock is always accurate even if unplugged when you plug it back in it is exactly as it should be. It has adjustability because you can decide what screen layout you prefer. This clock is a lifesaver for me. It also reads out the date and time if you want it to. I can't say enough of great things. You will love it..

It's been a rollercoaster but my mother still loves it
UPDATE #3: (upgraded to 4 stars and hoping this is the last of it)Yesterday, I ordered another of these for my mother because she "absolutely can't live without it." This morning she called me to say the warranty replacement clock was working again. It had become unplugged from the wall outlet. (Not sure about this since that was the first question I asked when she called me to say it wasn't working. She suffers from memory loss so who knows?) I did go to her place today and it is working. So, I owe an apology to the seller. And I'm going to keep the one I ordered this time as a back-up for the next time. It really is ideal for older folks as long as it keeps working!UPDATE #2: (back to 2 stars for the aggravation))Well, the clock we received as a warranty replacement in April 2023 has now died after 8 months of use. And still my mother wants me to buy her another one. She loves the clock that much that she's willing to fork out $40+ every 6-8 months. If this was "planned obsolescence" I expect it would die AFTER the one-year warranty expires, but I guess it's just a defect in these clocks. What a shame. It does everything Mom needs it to do except last. Going back to my 2-star rating.UPDATE: (back to 5 stars for warranty and customer service)My mother loved this clock so much that she told me to go ahead and purchase another, even if it would only last 6 months, so I did. A day later I received a response from the seller to my inquiry about the 12-month warranty. The seller offered to replace the clock but on learning that I had already purchased a second to replace the original, offered a refund for the replacement. I am impressed with the customer service and the 12-month warranty, and if Mom’s happy, I’m happy. It really is a great clock and I have to assume from the significant number of positive reviews that most people get more than a year’s use out of it. Hoping for better results this time!ORIGINAL REVIEW (2-STARS):I purchased this for my 89-year-old mother in September 2022. She has vision problems and wanted something with larger numbers. It's been six months and she tells me weekly how much she loves this clock and even asked me to buy one for my brother who thought it might help his wife who has memory issues. However, before I got around to making that purchase, Mom called last week and said her clock had stopped working. I went to her assisted living apartment to see if the ground fault circuit had tripped or the plug had loosened in the back but the clock was truly dead. Now I'm searching for something similar by another manufacturer. (Mom says she just can't live without that wonderful clock :-).) When I read reviews about products failing and it seems to be a small percentage of buyers, I always hope I'll be one of the lucky ones. Not so this time. It's a great clock but for the price we paid it should last longer than 6 months. Very disappointed.

Good quality and great features
Great for the bedroom. I like the features and the information it shows. Great for those mornings when I wake up and can't remember what day of the week it is!!

Very clear and easy to use
I give this a 5 star rating because the display looks clean and well presented. The remote does everything you want it to, although it does take a bit of experimentation to find out how they assigned things.Having said that, though, I have a bit of an Oliver Twist attitude. It would be really nice if it had some other aspects to it. These might be useful consideration points for others.1. The display should go even darker at night. I can see very well in the dark. 10% is far more than I need. It would be nice to have both low single digit percentages and also a 0% (display off) option.2. Custom profiles so I can swap to my own sets of day or night displays easily. See workaround later.3. A longer power cord.4. A white on black clock display. This would be better for night time use. The white display is much too bright for nighttime use.5. Calendar events rather than just day-based alarms. I don't think I will use any of the alarms, but I would use calendar reminders if it had them.6. User defined night/day switch over times. The workaround for custom profiles was the Broadlink controller. This swaps between my preferred clock + green text to BMW orange text-only (aka red) display at night. I like both displays, but only in their given time periods. These are nice-to-haves. Overall, happy with it so far, especially with the Broadlink workaround in place.

BUENA VISIBILIDAD
No tiene botones para activar la hora, según requerimientos de una persona ciega. Para débiles visuales las letras son grandes y vistosas. Es muy lento el tecleo para programar la identificación de cada alarma.
