Toxic Taste
This is my second review in two decades of Amazon ordering; I'm leaving this review because I think it's important information to share.I spent a long time looking for "the perfect" water bottle to make it practical and motivating to drink enough throughout the day. I decided on this one after seeing the photos of the design, and especially after reading all the positive reviews.The product does live up to the description and reviews: The simple design of the cover discourages mold growth and is super easy to clean, while incorporating an opening that's very comfortable and easy to drink from. The bottle is easy to carry. In short, the design of the bottle is clever in its simplicity, and I indeed found it to be perfect. I thought I had finally found my "perfect" water bottle.However...the bottle adds a bad taste to the water. I buy a certain brand of spring water that is pure and fresh when drinking out of a glass or plastic cups. So I am 100% certain that it is not the water. It's a brand new bottle, so it can't be attributed to its age or prior use.When drinking from this bottle, the water has a taste (not a good one - I can't place what it is - plastic? chemicals?) that starts out faintly and gets increasingly stronger as the water sits in the bottle throughout the day. I don't know what material is causing the taste, but something is unfortunately leaching into the water. I'm surprised that this wasn't mentioned in any review I read - the taste is obvious rather than subtle.For me, the purity of the water I drink is of primary importance. I'm leaving this review for anyone sensitive to the same thing who might want to be aware of this factor.
