FIFINE AmpliTank K688P XLR/USB Dynamic Microphone, Vocal Podcast Mic

I’ve been using this brand of microphones and audio equipment for many years. I’ve had this microphone for almost 2 years now, it still works perfectly fine. This is by far the best budget microphone for the price. It comes with a usb-c cord with a usb-a adapter for your pc. It also has a usb-c port, and an xlr port. It was super easy to plug and play, with no additional installations like drivers or anything. It sounds clear and works great. It has a little mini tripod, but if you have a boom arm, it’s easily adjustable to the direction you want it to be. It has volume sliders in the back for gain levels. The only issue I’ve ever had was the mute button, it came off of the spring. I emailed FIFINE within 1 year of purchasing this specific microphone for that issue. The spring still muted and unmuted the microphone, so it was a small issue, but it was definitely an inconvenience. I use a mixer that I bought from them, so I don’t have to mess with the mute button spring anyway. Instead of them just sending me the 3d printed piece that probably would have cost them $0.10, they sent me a whole new microphone for FREE. I didn’t even have to send back this one to the company. Their customer service was great! I got an email response within a WHOPPING 30 minutes. That’s the fastest customer service I’ve ever seen. They sent the replacement mic within a few days, and I received it within 7 days of the first email that I sent. I’ve primarily used only Fifine Mic’s since I started content creation, I’ve had the K669B, and AM8 which has been my main microphone for the past year. The K688 is an excellent upgrade! The build quality is better, and the built in shock mount and better background noise reduction compared to the AM8 makes it worth it. The Metal build is super nice. I love the smaller design profile when compared to the AM8, and though not needed, the ditching of the RGB lights is something I do miss. I also love that it includes a USB A to C that can easily become USB C to C. The cable itself is pretty long, similar to the AM8, it makes it super easy to adjust it. Similar to the other Fifine mic’s I’ve had, this one works out of the box with no issues. The XLR compatibility is also super neat. I primarily just use the USB C cable, it makes it super easy to plug in and use. I highly recommend pairing the mic with a boom arm (Fifine’s BM63 is my personal recommendation), I hadn’t realized till now how much of a difference it makes and how much easier it is to stay close to the mic and maintain consistent volume and quality. On the audio quality, I have a pretty deep and monotone voice. I try to keep the mic as close as possible and project my voice to make it sound as clear and crisp as possible. I am still very impressed by the audio quality for this price, and I have no real complaints. I’ve had it for over 2 weeks as of this review, I would recommend it!

The fifine K688 is an amazing microphone for its price! Since it utilizes both USB or XLR for connection, it’s a huge step up from the previous microphone i’ve used. The build quality is very nice and it feels super premium. The sound quality is also great straight out of the box, and with some adjustments it sounds absolutely amazing, and in my opinion comparable to SHURE microphones. The size is perfect, and its features are great. Best microphone i’ve had so far!

I bought and paid for both the K688 microphone and the low-profile boom arm, and I honestly couldn't be happier with this purchase. First, I have to talk about the K688 microphone itself. The audio quality on this thing is unbelievable. It is such a massive step up from any normal, regular mic I’ve ever used in the past, and it literally sounds better than any other mic I’ve ever owned. The voice clarity is top-tier, but the background noise isolation is what completely blew me away. I put it through a full real-world test right at my desk: I have an air purifier running right next to me, my ceiling fan on, a second fan running in the room, and the air conditioning blowing, and this mic cuts all of it out completely. You don't hear any of that noise in the background, and you don't hear my keyboard typing at all either. All you get is crisp, crystal-clear audio. For recording and streaming, it is genuinely perfect. Below the mic, the low-profile boom arm is just as impressive. I love the sleek white look of it—it gives my entire desk setup such a clean, modern aesthetic, and the mic looks awesome mounted on top of it. Beyond the visuals, the build quality is crazy solid. It’s made out of super strong materials, and the desk clamp is extremely thick and heavy-duty. Once you clamp this thing down, the boom arm literally does not move or go anywhere. It holds its exact position, doesn't sag, and does every single thing you could possibly want a high-end boom arm to do. Honestly, the setup process was another huge plus. It literally took me maybe two minutes to completely set up the boom arm, and then it literally took me 30 seconds to attach the mic to it. It's an amazing thing. It takes literally no time at all to get this entire setup ready to go. For cable management, all I did was run the wire right through the boom arm to completely hide the cables, and it makes everything look incredibly clean and professional. Overall, this entire setup is insanely well-built, reliable, and honestly perfect for anyone looking to upgrade their audio. Fifine is an amazing company, and this is easily one of the best products and brand experiences I've ever had! One last thing I want to mention is compatibility. It works with Windows and Mac computers, PS5, Android and iOS devices via USB, and standard XLR gear if you ever want to hook it up to a mixer (just keep in mind it isn't compatible with Xbox due to console limitations). Personally, I’m running it on Windows 11 using a Type-C to Type-A connection—I'm not even using XLR—and it was literally 100% plug-and-play right out of the box. It works completely flawlessly!

Great microphone for the price, especially if you're not sure YT or Podcasts are not your long term goal. If you're beginning then start with this microphone... Pros: works great with a stand or static mount, sounds great on your recordings. Versatile connection capabilities Cons: sound quality won't be as good as Rode or other high end microphones. Would definitely get for a home Podcast or YT channel start up.

does exactly what it says it will do all while sounding crisp, i really appreciate how it has both xlr dock and usb/usbc because that gives it tons of versatility on where you can actually use this thing whether that be your phone, ipad, laptop, pc, or standalone camera. its ready to go right out of the box, just plug and play.

I’ve been genuinely impressed with this microphone. The audio is crisp, clear, and does a great job rejecting background noise, which makes it perfect for streaming, gaming, voiceovers, or recording content. As a YouTube Content Creator, I was looking for the highest Quality Microphone I could get for a low price. There are some brands out there other YouTubers use that can cost a couple hundred dollars or more. Most of us who just start out on YouTube do not have that kind of money to spend. FiFine offers products to us at such an accessible price, it's hard not to take a look! The K688 is a Microphone that fits all my needs. I have used this Microphone in the USB configuration for several months and had absolutely no issues with it. The sound has been high quality giving me that studio sound that you would get from the higher price microphones. Recently, I added an audio mixer into my setup, the FiFine SC3 so that I can connect to XLR and use that quality. This microphone sounds great in XLR! But, it sounded great in USB mode too. I feel like regardless of how you wish to use this microphone, it will do an amazing job. When I first received the K688 it was extremely easy to use. You simply plug in the USB/XLR and plug it into your device you are connecting to. I purchased this microphone in the Color white to fit my setup. While in USB configuration you can adjust the microphone gain and the headphone volume with the Microphones knobs. You can also mute/unmute the microphone by simply pressing the touchscreen style mute button on the microphone. These features are not accessible in XLR mode because the Audio Mixer (In my case FiFine SC3) would take over those functions. I would definitely recommend this Microphone to content creators who want to sound amazing without spending a ton of money.

I was so happy to order fifine k688 which is great starter mic but during one and half month i tried so many good cables and devices to clear recordings but this is only recording noise no voice been clear recording.

Microphone works great. However, the stand is kinda flimsy. After a few months, it no longer can support the mic.
