Hub USB 3.0 Type C Card Reader USB C,Asltoy 6-in-1 High Speed USB Hub Micro SD/SD Memory Card Reader TF for PC Laptop MacBook with USB Cable OTG (Type C)

I ordered and received this item for a trip overseas that I'm leaving for tomorrow. When this arrived, my heart sank. First, the main reader (with the cable), shows a USB connection but what you actually get is a USB A (3.0) connector with a little adapter that plugs into it to convert it. This might be fine if they included a USB A to C adapter but instead they sent a micro USB adapter. For me to use this with my USB C device, I'd need to use a second adapter and hope all pieces are USB OTG compatible. I was able to get this to work with the proper adapter but just picture the hub connected to a cable with a USB A end, connected to a small A to Micro USB adapter, then a micro to USB C OTG adapter. Really not confidence building. The build quality is also really terrible. The ports don't line up and the memory card slots are really tight and feel like they are damaging your cards. I had to use a piece of cloth to get a good enough grip on my card to remove it. I really would recommend using a SD card adapter for your microSD cards because the SD slot is a little bit nicer than the micro slot, and if it does damage anything, it'll be your cheap adapter and not the memory card itself. The secondary adapter it came with seems to work fine but the connector is not the greatest as well. It feels really clunky when you use it and you definitely cannot use it with any sort of case on. Seriously terrible product. Please avoid it and also make sure you note that there are many other readers like it, likely from the same OEM, that have the same shoddy quality.

I dropped a tablet into a tub of water. The tablet didn't make it, tried all the tricked the internet gave me for drying it out, but it shot out smoke quickly and died pretty much on the spot. Well poop. Managed to salvage my 32gb micro sd card.My new tablet has no SD Card slot!?!?! I need a solution!For $10.99, this does everything I'll need it to do. It totally worked, can use as external memory whenever I need it. Can transfer and save files. Can browse of course. Already used it on my windows PC, worked great there too!5 stars because it's actually capable of more than I will use it for. Excellent product!I'll attach a pic of the reader and a pic with my USB Type-C android and this connected.

Pretty versatile and works well. But it's a little too wide for new MacBook usb-c ports. If you plug this, itcovers ports next to it and you cannot plug in another usb-c device on the same side. Its a minor annoyance, but something to keep in mind if you utilize many usb-c ports on your MacBook.

This device states it will use USB-C Speeds, and that may be so. But I have tested it with many of my various Micro SD and SD cards that are rated for 95-150MB read speeds on my 15" MacBook Pro w/ Touchbar and only get around 20MB reads through this adapter (Tested with Black Magic).The same cards through my old Sandisk USB 3.1 reader are much closer to the rated reads speeds (e.g. Sandisk Extreme Pro 95MBps reads around 80MBps and a Lexar 1000x reads at about 110MBps). I think this reader is only reading at USB 2.0 speeds as all my cards at their different ratings are reading about the same 20MB speed.I have not tested this on a Windows computer. I used the reader connected directly to each of the four USB-C port on a late 2016 15" MacBook Pro running Mac OS 10.12.3.I have not contacted Asltoy support yet. Stay tuned.I can't even find a website for this company. I prematurely tossed the packaging, it may have been in there. I'm going to attempt a return.

It is nice, but the mini usb & usb 3.0 that are together, don't work. The blue little plastic thing that holds the mini usb in place, broke the first time I tried to use it!!!! Now I can only use the usb 3.0 and the usb type C. The card slots work fine.

It appears from the photo that the connector is an Apple Lightning connector, but I see from the description (which I did not read, apparently) that it is a USB Type C connector. It, therefore, does not meet my needs and I returned it. Sorry.

I purchased the "Type C card reader". SD slot is a tight slot so that you'll have to force it to mount. USB slots look fragile. Right off the bat, you will notice quality isn't that great either. After a few uses, the reader corrupted my SD card. Now my precious pictures are gone. So, be warned folks.

I love the size and the versitility. The Micro USB is a little difficult to get out, which as of now, is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars
