Looks like a quality product.
When you buy aftermarket car parts, it is always a good sign to see the manufacturer cast their name into it, and that's what this had. (The exceptionoften being Dorman) The original unit was made by Valeo, and... I forgot the name of this one, but the logo matched what was on the actual lock cylinder. If you have a VW/AUDI where the key gets progressively more difficult to turn and gets a little scary when you can't turn the engine off, this is what needs to be replaced. It is pretty easy to do, and there is an excellent YouTube video on it. Something in the old one wears out. Only time can tell how much longer this one holds up, but I predict that it won't, simply because the overall design is flawed, and duplicating the original won't fix the problem, unless there is more inside of it that will make the difference that cannot be seen from the outside.

Works great!
Was some what hesitant as it’s not an oem part but the cost was unbeatable and it works flipping great! No more key getting stuck, just super smooth operation. The only problem I had was removing the shear bolts from the old unit to install this new one.

Good replacement
Had my steering wheel lock mechanism break and ingnition was stuck in on position. Bought this replacement and immediately removed all steering wheel lock components as its a common issue. Worked like a charm but i recommend dropping the steering column to replace as the bolt heads need to be cut off to remove the factory ignition

Excellent price
This part was an exact fit for the OEM part. Part isn’t easy to install based upon the location on the steering column. Part was installed by local mechanic for $200. Labor, which was an excellent price. Overall, buying this part at Amazon with a local mechanic install saved me close to $1000 from a dealer.

Worked for 1 week.
This product looked pretty well made. It installed as it should. It fixed my key binding issue. However after about a week of use my car starter wouldn't engage intermittently and my radio wouldn't turn on. I found the ignition switch popping out of the housing and on further inspection found the clips that hold the switch in are not functional whatsoever. So now I have the switch held in with epoxy while I shop for another. That job kinda sucked to do and having to do it twice over poor QC is an unsat.

This assembly only lasted about 4 months.
I had this installed by a trusted mechanic and it worked well for only about three months. It has started failing and needs to be replaced again after 4 months.
