I absolutely love the Hario V60 Plastic Coffee Dripper, and it has become an essential part of my daily coffee routine. Here’s why I think it’s fantastic: Pros: Excellent Brew Quality: The V60 design, with its spiral ribs and large single hole, allows for a clean, well-extracted cup of coffee. The result is a bright, flavorful brew with just the right amount of complexity. Durable and Lightweight: The plastic construction is surprisingly durable and lightweight. It’s perfect for everyday use, and I don’t have to worry about it breaking easily. Size 03 is Versatile: The Size 03 is ideal for brewing larger batches of coffee, making it great for when I have guests or just want a bigger cup for myself. Easy to Clean: Just rinse when done. Affordable: Compared to other brewing methods, the Hario V60 is very affordable, especially considering the quality of coffee it produces. It’s a great value for the price. Cons: Learning Curve: If you’re new to pour-over coffee, there’s a bit of a learning curve to mastering the perfect brew. It takes some practice to get the grind size, water temperature, and pouring technique just right. Requires Filters: You’ll need to use Hario V60 filters, which are an additional cost. The plastic V60 the best option for efficiency in your brewing routine and overall functionality
I've recently added the plastic HARIO V60 02 dripper to my coffee brewing arsenal, and it has quickly become a cornerstone of my morning ritual. As an avid coffee enthusiast, finding the right tools that combine functionality with efficiency is crucial, and this dripper does just that. One of the standout features of this model, which is crucial for any coffee brewer, is its heat retention capabilities. Unlike other materials, the plastic construction of this V60 not only makes it easy to handle and preheat but also retains heat exceptionally well throughout the brewing process. This consistent temperature maintenance is key to extracting the fullest flavor from your coffee grounds, ensuring a rich and robust cup every time. Additionally, this is a rather thick plastic. It is exceptionally smooth and does not look or feel as cheap as it is. The dripper's design is also worth noting. It accommodates 1-4 cups, making it perfect for personal use or when entertaining guests. The transparent plastic not only looks sleek but allows for visibility of the coffee as it brews, enhancing the overall experience and making it easier to achieve the perfect brew by observing the drip rate and color. This V60 brewer combines aesthetic appeal with functional excellence. Its superior heat retention, especially noteworthy in the plastic version, makes it a superior choice for those seeking to refine their pour-over technique and enjoy a consistently great cup of coffee. Whether you’re a seasoned barista or a home brew enthusiast, this dripper is an excellent investment.

Nice clear resin #3 Hario coffee dripper funnel/cone fits inside a 2" thermos bottle opening
I used the Hario VDR-03-T V60 dripper 03 (transparent resin) to brew coffee today. Very low effort required to use it well. Melitta #4 natural brown filter used. As with the coffee-maker this setup replaces, a quick reshaping of the Melitta #4 filter ensures it fits reasonably well in the Hario dripper. I'm keeping the Hario VDR 03 dripper. It serves the need and looks good doing it. These filters do not come to a conical point; they are bonded along about two inches at the bottom. This didn't seem like an appreciable issue (and they are available at the market nearby). Went with 38g ground coffee (Eight O'Clock) and 615 ml of water at the start (boiled in a new electric kettle, and allowed to cool for a minute before the pour). The instrux that shipped with the Hario suggest a 3 minute pour; this one was closer to four minutes. The main thing seems to be to stay off the boundary between wet coffee grounds and exposed filter - pour at least slightly to the interior of this boundary (in a circular manner). I did reform the grounds after wetting them; had poured a deep cavity into them in one spot - fixed that with a spare finger and an 'ouch!' ;) Good cup of coffee. Not all that nuanced of course. Competitive with the coffee-maker machine used recently as to result (strength and taste). Cleanup was very warm clear water running from the tap and a nylon brush, trying to avoid direct contact with the hard brush handle and the Hario (just the bristles). No soap. ;) Light pressure used; did not want to risk breaking a new item for no reason. With the repurposed thermos bottle as the 'catcher' this worked out to a cost-effective short-term solution to coffee-making. The thermos was utilized with the old setup as well (second vessel to hold fresh brewed coffee). This new method (Hario) made a brew that was a good ten degrees of extra heat (the coffee was warmer than with the old system, which was a bit of a dodge with a 1 liter borosilicate flat-bottom vessel as the catcher - which stole a lot of heat). A separate 'stand' to hold the Hario V60 dripper (during a brew) seems like an obvious solution to the problem of mismatched diameters (the Hario #3 fits inside a two inch opening; by chance this exactly matches the ten inch tall stainless thermos on-hand, so the pour was directly into the thermos - good deal!) The largest diameter of the 'disc' part at the base of the cone would not span the wider borosilicate vessels on hand (which was the intention during purchase). The largest dimension is right near 4 1/2 inches, but that includes a (downward facing) lip that can capture the outside diameter of a round vessel somewhere near, say, 4 1/8 inches (or just a bit less than that). 'Fit and finish' seems superb. Would have guessed 'food grade clear polycarbonate' based on similar kitchen items bought in the past. Hario sticks with the term 'resin' to describe the exact material used.

Ingenious coffee dripper. Simple to use. I used both 01 - 02 filters. Once you have found your perfect coffee weight. You can have an extremely good brew, time after time. You get to taste those subtle flavours not as visible in other coffee makers. Perfect size for portability and easy to clean.

Estupenda.
