Fast and Reliable
Got this device to store the ever-growing library of photos and music. I don't want to delete anything, and always think I'll go through it all someday. For now, this helps keep my PC hard drive free.It comes with some syncing software, but I've never used that. It's also great that it has USB-C functionality and comes with a stocky, short C to C cable and a C to A adapter for older setups to still connect. Transfer speeds are acceptably fast, and the device itself is light and small - practically wallet sized.

Confusing software
I found the process of setting the software that comes with this product to be very confusing. I eventually got it working through trial and error but it was a poor user experience and next time I purchase a hard drive it will be a different company. The actual storage worked well though!

Failed after 3 months
I’ve owned a lot of hard drives and SSDs over the years. Never had a dud like this one. Won’t mount. Foolish me…an internet search shows there are numerous complaints about Western Digital SSDs with similar failures after a few months. How do I get my money back or a replacement? I would avoid this product.

Could not be read
I bought this used passport drive and it could not be read by the computer. I had to return it and purchased a new one.

WD privacy intrusion
Very Intrusive. I couldn't install this without authorizing WD to access and send information about my files in order "to improve the quality of WD products". I'm completely turned off.
