Drive Medical ATC19-BL Lightweight Aluminium Transport Wheelchair with Swing-Away Footrest, Blue

This wheelchair was purchased for a family member with limited mobility who can get around with a walker but not long distances. It was fairly easy to put together once removing plastic ties that protect the product during shipping. It is also easy to fold up. At 19 lbs, it is lightweight for a sturdy wheelchair. Keep in mind that this chair is not for the patient to wheel him or herself, but to allow for transport by a caregiver. It has not yet been used outside of assembly but believe it will be useful for outside ventures in the future. It comes with locking brakes and a seatbelt, as well as leg/foot support. It can fit through narrow doorways as well, which is a plus. I was impressed by the value for the money.

Insurance got my partner another wheelchair but it was so bulking and difficult to unfold, we got this wheelchair. It’s much lighter in weight and super easy to unfold. We have hatchback type cars that this wheelchair fits easily into. I’m sure it would fit in a standard trunk. It’s comfortable for the person in the chair and so easy to use for people with mobility issues. It’s made to be pushed so the rider cannot propel it him/ herself.

The width of the chair is perfect to get comfortably through our small bathroom door! The chair is very smooth and easily navigated so I can be pushed to various parts our house. Well built, light weight, also folds up and stores easily.. A+

My elderly mom is slight built and fits into the wheel chair but I am contemplating whether to return it as I feel it won't accommodate her when wearing a winter jacket. Very narrow - convenient that it takes up little space, but she seems too squished into it.

What a great purchase. I have a bathroom door that is exactly 24" wide and the narrow portion of the door frame is 23.5". There is plenty of room to spare on either side. We took the door off but the chair would fit without doing that. Very easy to roll on hardwood, tile and carpet. Has good locks on the rear wheels that can be engaged and disengaged with the foot so you don't have to bend over. The front wheels don't lock which makes it easy to move out the way since they still roll when the back wheels are locked. The widest portion of the chair is 18.50". From rear wheel bolt head to rear wheel bolt head. Suggestion to the designer is add another rail underneath the padded cushion arm rest. My 85 year old mother does not have the strength to lift herself due to the arm rest being so high. See the photo. Where the yard stick is it would be nice to have another rail to shorten the length of lift that she has. I need to get a 4" cushion and that will solve my problem. The arms fold down making it easy to store. I would not use this chair down a set of stairs like I use the wheelchair to roll her down two steps I have at home. Ramp to be built soon. What an awesome purchase.

this wheel chair is smaller and works great to get around the house. from out experience if the person weight 100-140 it is a comfortable fit, however a 200 lbs person barely fits. you can order and if it does not fit you can send it back.

I have had four of these chairs over the years because I keep one in my car and one in my house for my daughter. They are easy to fold and get into a regular car. And the price is right!

Be wary when purchasing this chair. Purchased the size 17” chair and it was not 17” in width. The description states the seat width is 17” and 16” in depth, however, upon receiving the product, I found that the chair was way to narrow and actually the seat width measured at 16 1/4”, while the depth measured at 15”, and that was the full length of the seat material from one end to the other, not just between the arm rests. The width of the chair between the arm rests was even narrower. It measured at only 15” in width between the metal frame. I had to order the 19” chair instead as a replacement. I give Amazon a full 5 stars for customer service though. They offered me a one time refund on a non refundable item, as I believe they may have seen my order of the replacement chair. High marks for customer service, but low marks for inaccurate description of product dimensions. Unless you are ordering this size for a very small person, or child, I would order the 19” to be safe!

I purchase for my client, love it, love the color, light weight, easy to put together nd easy to fold. I love the fact that there were different colors to chose from.

Excellent design, easy fold. Perfect for a very small senior lady of 100 lbs but I would guess way too narrow and small for much bigger person. Light to carry.

Es muy compacta y ligera (pesa menos de 10 kilos). Esta un poco angosta, eso si (si la persona que la va a usar es un tanto caderona puede ser un tanto dificil pero con que entre de ladito funciona). Ire a.un viaje de 3 semanas asi que actualizare para ver que sucede en los aviones y con el uso diario

this is the second chair we have had, and some thought has gone into making it a bit lighter and the folding handles help with storage e.g. in the car trunk...I give it high markscheers

I was very skeptical when I purchased this. Wasn’t sure it would work for my needs. I’m so glad I bought this. Works great!! I go to the hospital quite frequently and the hospital charges now for wheelchairs use. I wanted my own and this was on sale. I am so happy with this.. light weight and easy to get in and out of the vehicle. It sets up easy and to push. I read in the reviews that the warranty on covers the frame. This Feels like it could last a while for my needs.
