The slicer part is stainless steel, but the edges and h as Nile are plastic

Q: Does this have a blade for lattice chips (gaufrettes)?

No. It can make either straight cuts or wavy cuts, but I haven't found anyway to make waffle-cuts. This is a VERY limited device, fine for occasional use.
