I was surprised this lil guy worked exactly as specified! Usually you get a crappy kit for emergencies at this price, but it's so darn flexible I keep it in my laptop bag! If you EVER have to trace/test a cable, or find yourself going that extra mile so a POC doesnt pop! you'll be glad this was in your trunk/bag. get one!

I bought this product for my own personal use at home but this prouct is as good as any other products I have used for commercial use. Delivery was as expected and the product performs well. I would recommend this product and I am an I.T. professional.

This product might be good if they fixed the design flaws and put better RJ45 test cable in there.One of the biggest design flaws in the lights. When you turn to tone you get no light indicator and instead you must use the "scan" selection to get a tone. And the two individual units will not turn them selves off until the batteries are dead apparently.The included RJ45 test cable included with mine would intermittently test ok with one of the link lights indicating the cable was bad... i was ready to once again pack up up and return but decided tp play with it more to see if i could get it to work right in any useful way. I tested a cable I made myself and it was indicated by their tester as correct so their cable was bad right out of the box, I assume hopefully correctly for that type of test the tester is ok,,, important to me for my use.For the tone test/trace: you must use scan and adjust the remote turn it on and it seeemed to work fine on the short run I tested it on.So far that is my experience with this unit. The seller gave extra hints on how the unit doesn't really work as expected via email. That was nice but I more quickly figured that out as I tried to get it to workas expected, I gave this 4 stars but wanted to give 3.5 because they should fix it right and manufacture it right and test iti first (yeah made in china) but the fact despite its flaws i felt it did what i personally have needed it to do so far once i figured out its quirks and defective cable I gave it 4 stars anyway.

This unit worked better than I expected. Used it when troubleshooting cabling problems in two of my offices and everything worked better than expected. Traced out cable runs between 90-120 feet without issues.

This little device saved me thousands in A/V installation costs. I recently renovated a house and had over 50 various unlabeled A/V wires running all over the house from the inside of my A/v closet to outside D-Mark to the various outlets in rooms . I was easily able to track Cat 5e , Cat6,, phone lines, cable, and even speaker wires. I also used to test the jacks and cat 6 wires I made. A Must Have...a child could do it

I had to run 10 data wires. It broke on the first one. The lights came on for a second on the receiver, then went dark. It never ended up working. Luckily I had access to another brand that I used to finish the job.

I was able to trace and repair the defective telephone line that had been impossible to diagnose previously. Product worked fine for that purpose.My criticism of the product is not the device functionality. The labeling of functions on the device and the stilted English in the instructions can lead to confusion about what settings do what actual function. The seller has attempted to reduce this difficulty using added paste-on notes, but a revision of the product front panel and editing of the English in the instructions would benefit users, particularly those who do not take time to read instructions CAREFULLY. It does work.
