Extensive instruction. Taking as college course. Additional content helpful.
The book arrived quickly and in perfect New condition. Purchased the Deluxe Edition in order to take advantage of Full Version of Lab Simulator Software and added content. Make sure you register the product codes in the book on the Pearson website. Once registered, make sure to access the bonus content under the Deluxe Edition ebook version online under Registered Products. The access bonus content located with the CompTIA Network+ N10-007 Cert Guide, Deluxe Edition is where you will find the link to the Full version of the accompanying Lab Simulator Software with 75 exercises included with the Deluxe Edition book. Looking forward completing this course and book.

excellent as a textbook
I was interested in learning about networking, but not really planning to take the test.It turns out that this is an excellent book. There are three things I like:1. A full chapter on command line2. Efficiently organized to make the book small & compact(For many other books, new contents are added up like a "patch work" after each edition, eventually causing contents to be scattered over many places and repeated)3. Good tempo, by skipping common-sense stuff and focusing more on technical contents.I am not sure how well this book prepares the Comptia Network+ test, but this book is excellent for self-studying textbook.(Much better than college textbooks on "computer network", which only covers endless list of protocols)

Good resource, you’ll pass your exam, but some missed teaching opportunities.
I found this book to be a useful resource but one that focused a bit too much on “teaching to the test” at the expense of teaching moments. Case in point, the book devotes six pages to discussing command line options for traceroute/tracert but never stops to explain how a traceroute actually works, i.e., incrementing TTL/Hop Limit fields and ICMP Time Exceeded replies. I may not be the real target audience for this book (existing IT Profssional rather than a newcomer), but even so, it seems to me that this would be useful knowledge to share. All in all, the book is a useful resource, particularly with included the video/test prep add-ons from the webpage, and I would highly recommend it, with tha caveat that it should be the starting point for aspiring network administrators, not an authoritative reference.P.S., I did have the issue with swapped codes, noted in other reviews; kudos to the publisher for the prompt replies to affected customers.

Good for preparing for Certification
My friend is an IT Manager with my employer suggested I study this specific book and get certification. I have started but not finished. I am learning a lot. I also purchased book for A+ certification. I truly recommend this book. If your just starting to be IT department, buy both and get certification. There are more such as Security.

Good general overview of cert objectives from which to branch to other sources.
Excellent cert guide dirtly from the authoritative publisher and exam service provider: clear, concise and expansive. While this provides a general outline for my network+ study (it follows Comptia objectives closedly), I use other resources (professor Messer, CBT and Udemy) to supplement my preparation__something would-be testers should seriously consider as no one source that I know covers all the vast material, labs and correct test taking format.

Pretty code so far, but codes are switched around
The codes didn't work for me either, but I called the publisher up who let me know that they had made a printing error. The codes in the booklet are actually correct but they switched them around, meaning the code under the simulator software should be entered into the prep test and the code under prep test should be the one entered under simulator software.

Great resource for Network+ exam
Of all the books for the Network+ exam this one follows most closely to the exam objectives that CompTIA puts out for the exam. It is detailed and straightforward and also has a tons of resources that you can use online to help pass the test. Would definitely recommend this book.

Awesome book
This book was a serious God send. Its immensely thorough with the information and it goes over everything in a detailed fashion but a common speak manner. I'm getting ready to take my exam soon and I'm nervous but with this this book I feel good.

Good book with controversial content. Not recommended for novice in networking subject.
I bought this book for a review the fundamentals of networking. I decided to go through a cert guide because could be more objective and updated, but on page 46, in the first paragraph, the author declarares that ICMP protocol belongs to OSI Transport Layer Protocols.I have studied and learned that ICMP is a Network Layer and I searched about the author declaration. Technical community agrees that ICMP is a Network Layer protocol and we have books, articles and discussion about that subject. I didn't find any article or renowned books that could endorsed this affirmative.Last picture of this review shows CCNA 200-125 Official Cert Guide book where mentions about ICMP. I have read Tanenbaum and he tells the same.I am disappointed about this topic because this is not true according to renowned authors. I am uncertain about all other content of this book but I will give it a try.I unfortunately don't recommended for novice student who never studied networking. In this case, go through CCNA books or another renowed author.

Decent, well written book.
This is one well written book that covers all the topics you need to know for your Network+ N10-007 exam. The material is well explained and it covers everything fundamental from 0 to network troubleshooting. It is especially good for the people who want to start their networking career - this is definitely your first step. This book comes with 2 online practice tests, Network+ Simulator Lite with lab excercises, flash cards, study questions after every chapter, etc... make sure to cover and follow everything that is required after every chapter, it does help. Study and learn concepts and protocols with understanding - very important for your exam. I cannot emphasize this enough, make sure you understand the concepts, dry memorising will not help. Also, word of advice - if you are interested in going for CCNA R&S, study Net+ first - it will be much easier for you to dive into and understand CCNA after Net+. I believe this is one of the best books for the N10-007 exam currently available, so I can definitely recommend it.
