Excellent Security and Peace of Mind
★★★★★ One of the Best Security Upgrades I've Made I installed this Ring Battery Doorbell Pro and have been extremely pleased with it. The video quality is excellent, the motion detection works very well, and the notifications arrive quickly. One of my favorite features is the two-way talk. Whether I'm at home or away, I can see who's at the door and communicate with them easily. The audio quality has been clear and reliable. The 3D Motion Detection is a big improvement and helps reduce unwanted alerts while giving me confidence that I'm being notified when it matters. Setup was straightforward, and the battery-powered design made installation much easier. I use it for both convenience and security, and it has exceeded my expectations. It provides peace of mind whether I'm at home, at work, or traveling. This has been a great investment, and I would definitely purchase it again. Highly recommended for anyone looking to improve the security of their home or business.

Great upgrade from Ring Doorbell 2020
One thing I always fear when upgrading is drilling new holes. My Ring Doorbell (2020) was starting to show it's age and I wanted a camera with a wider head to toe angle and this didn't disappoint. Shown on my pictures is the corner kit I used for the Original Ring Doorbell (720p). The 3 corner pieces interlock and I just use a long screw to hold it together on the top and bottom. The 2020 doorbell didn't exactly fit the original corner kit because it has a bracket that you attach the doorbell to, then secure it with two screws on the bottom. The power is still connected to the Ring Doorbell itself. It did leave very small gap on the top but the doorbell area is sheltered from the elements. Fast forward to 2025. I was able to remove the old doorbell and old bracket. To attach the Ring Doorbell PRO, I had to remove one of the corner pieces and use the corner kit that came with the doorbell. The power is still attached to the back of the doorbell. The black corner kit is smooth and doesn't lock with the old pieces of the corner kit. It does stay flushed against it. While someone is holding the 3 pieces together, you use the long screw on the top and bottom to secure all 3 pieces. Make sure everything is even. Once that is done, you can connect the power to the back of the Doorbell PRO. Then use the 4 short screws to attach the Ring Doorbell to the black corner piece that came with the doorbell. Pop in the battery and you are ready to set up in the APP. After the doorbell is added, you can put the cover on and use the short security screw to keep the battery door shut. It was easy to set up in the APP and it instantly recognized my indoor chime without me going through set up menus. I was back in business and so happy I upgraded. The motion detection is nice and you need to set the notifications in the MOTION settings. The default is people only. The doorbell itself uses Smart Technology to eliminate all the false alerts. The setting I used was people, send a notification. Vehicles, record but don't send notification. Other motion, record but don't send notification. The Doorbell PRO is well worth the upgrade! The video is clearer and the pre-roll feature is very nice.

LOVE THIS !!!
Love this camera - Doorbell Pro w/Chime and two way talk. Wonder how I lived without it!!! Took the place of a home security company charging me monthly. I'm in an apt w/a covered front walkway and attached garage. EVEN SO .... with the audio MOTION SENSOR ... it pics up movement and words up to2- 30 feet away, so the camera tells my phone to alert me that someone is approaching my door wayyy before they are in sight and the camera begins recording their face! This camera has a WIDE field of vision, and floor to sky view. I see my packages and the overhead lights of my covered walk-way. It paid for itself 3 days after mounting, when an unscheduled pest control man came and TRIED to peel off my Ring Sticker warning him he's about to be on film; still, he tried to dismount my camera, while talking to it, unaware he was audio recorded as well as video recorded. It comes with 30 days of free history but I can take a screen shot if needed of any event going on. But so far, chimes notifying my cell ahead of time, gives sufficient time for me to react appropriately. Even if not home, I can call police if needed. (I reported the guy for tampering w/my personal equipment). I can leave pre-recorded short audio messages after they press the "Ring" button; if home, it tells them, "please wait a minute" (or various options), as well for "away" messages; choosing either a male or female voice using "we/us" v. "me/I" (as if alone). A MUST HAVE in todays evil world. I'd strongly suggest mounting on doorframe with screws it comes with v. its tape alone, even if in an apt, as I am. Have one on my 1st floor back patio also. Now, I feel a level of security, that despite my faith in God to protect me, this was an added layer of protection I needed after an abusive marriage and hard divorce that required a 2-Year Protective Order, as he's a stalker! GET THIS CAMERA and A 2ND BATTERY to keep charged!!! A few dollars more is peace of mind that's PRICELESS!!! Stay Safe! Peace! :)

Disappointed in this model
UPDATE: Ring support reached out to me to troubleshoot the issue. They determined that my unit was defective and replaced it. The new doorbell cam works great and I’m satisfied with the results and fantastic customer service. I will say that there are some settings trade-offs with the battery model, but I’m happy with it. INITIAL REVIEW: I replaced an older wired pro that kept losing connection to my Chime. I thought this would have similar performance, but it doesn’t. My biggest issue is with the detection range. For example, it misses the giant garbage truck and the UPS truck at my curb. Also, there’s too much delay between events. Sometimes I only see a delivery person walking AWAY or not at all! Also, the batteries don’t seem to trickle charge like they’re supposed to. Only positives are the color night vision and the wider vertical view. If you can, buy a wired model.

Very Good Doorbell Camera, but Battery Life Could Be Better
I installed the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro at our front door about four months ago, replacing an older Ring doorbell. Overall, it has been reliable and does the important things well, especially motion alerts, package notifications, and nighttime video. My main complaint is battery life. WHAT I LIKE: Package Notifications: This is probably my favorite feature. Package deliveries are detected reliably, and getting the notification on my phone is very convenient. Fast Motion Alerts: Motion detection has worked well without becoming annoying with unnecessary alerts. Notifications generally reach my phone within about 1–2 seconds. Good Video, Especially at Night: Daytime picture quality is pretty good, but I've been particularly impressed with the nighttime video quality. Reliable Connection: I haven't experienced any significant Wi-Fi or connection problems during the time I've been using it. Recorded Video: I have a Ring subscription, and being able to go back and view previous recordings is useful to me. THINGS TO CONSIDER: Battery Life: I'm using it completely on battery power and typically need to recharge it about every 4–6 weeks. I wish the battery lasted longer, especially since removing and recharging it becomes part of the regular maintenance. Two-Way Talk: It works, and I've used it, but I don't find the sound quality particularly impressive. It's usable for a quick conversation at the door, but this is one area that could be better. 3D/Bird's Eye View: The doorbell includes this feature, but I don't use it, so I can't really comment on how useful it is. FINAL VERDICT: After about four months, I'm happy with the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro and would buy it again. The package notifications, quick alerts, reliable detection, and very good nighttime video are the strongest features for me. Better battery life and improved two-way audio would make it an even better product.

a little fussy to set it up but great once I got it done
I bought the battery Pro. Overall it's great and just what I needed for security when someone comes to my door so I don't have to open the door to see who is out there. It has a clear view and looks nice on the wall. The only issue I had was setting it up, it was kind of fussy but it might have just been me, but eventually got it done. Once it was setup the motion detection was good, and you can set your perimeter you want it to watch for motion so you're not having it go off when your neighbor is in their yard. Night vision was almost as good as during the day, so that's really nice. The audio leaves a little to be desired, and I don't like the fact that you have to turn on 2 way talk every time you turn on live view. I would have preferred that if you go to live view it automatically turns it on. I had to attach it to the adjoining wall as I don't have room on the same wall as the door, and I had to buy a different corner mount as the one that comes with it didn't have enough angle to see down the walkway. If you need a different corner mount I suggest get one that the angle is adjustable. It also took some work to get it connected to my Chime Pro, but once I did it works great. FYI - Because the notifications on my phone were often delayed, I ended up buying 2 of the Chime Pros so I could hear it at both ends of the house, while the Chime has a volume control it wasn't loud enough to hear in the whole house.

We love the Ring doorbell so much we bought the Ring cameras for the house.
Yes, buy it. Great video with excellent quality picture. My husband was able to install it himself as mounting was easy. We did buy the subscription for recording which seemed pretty reasonably priced.

Yet another glorified doorbell from Ring. Expensive product but motion detection is unreliable
This is my third attempt at finding a Ring product that will reliably record people at night getting close to our car parked in front of the house, following the theft of its wheels. The entry Ring Video Doorbell could not, the Ring Stick Up Cam Battery could not. I was hoping that going "Pro" would help. It's much better but still disappointing considering its price. Interestingly, I also tried Blink Outdoor 4 cameras which cost a fraction of the Rings and they do work. I wish one could get the Ring software (which is clearly better than the Blink software) to work with Blink cameras (which I somehow find way more reliable in terms of motion detection). EDIT 29-AUG-2024: Ring tech support reached out and took the time to fully investigate my situation. While I am still disappointed by the product (imho it is not a good option as a security camera), I am impressed by the support offered and changed my rating to 3 stars to reflect that. EDIT 28-SEP-2024: Further reflections after a few weeks of use: Pre-Roll (i.e. the capture of about four seconds of silent low-resolution video before a motion event is triggered) is nice. While it does not help with motion detection per se, when reviewing recordings, you can see people coming to the door rather than just leaving as you do with the cheaper non-pro models. However, it seems to have some impact on battery life. In a high traffic area, expect to proactively replace the battery every two weeks or so. Getting a Ring Charging Station and spare batteries is pretty much a must. Also, when it works, integration with Amazon Echo Show is pretty neat. See my review of the Echo Show 8 for more details.

Pro model chalk and cheese over the standard model.
This ring battery Pro is much better than the standard battery doorbell. The std 2024 door bell gave strange background noise garbles and being PIR often missed a fast delivery person even with parcel mode enabled. The Pro model has pure clear audio, fast pick up as not a PIR type. Battery life is very good too. My only gripe is having to remove a security screw, a cover to get battery out to charge. The std model had a lever tool making it quick n easy. My new Pro is mounted central above the dead lock of 2 double front doors where its not possible to get wires thru the door to run off ext power or even solar. My Front doors are recessed in an enclosed archway so corner mounting was not an option to get a decent view beyond the archway.

Great for transforming your front door into a communications portal.
The Ring Doorbell is an excellent device. It does 90% of what most people want out of the box - good video, reliable alerts, built-in communication, etc. But that last 10% - the ability to look back, download recordings, get smarter alerts - makes a big difference in real life. And it sucks a little that those capabilities require an ongoing fee. If you’re okay with paying a modest subscription, the Ring becomes far more powerful. If not, it still works well - just with limitations. All up, though, I’d still recommend it if you want modern smart doorbell functionality. Just go in knowing exactly what features are free, and what you’ll need to pay for.

Video doorbell is fabulous.
Love this video doorbell. We have it installed on our front gate so we know anytime someone is there. Feel a lot safer with this device, highly recommend.

Great unit.
Great unit. You don’t need to get the display (eg Echo Show 5). The mobile phone is perfectly fine as a display unit. I used the 3M VHB 4910F clear double sided tape to attach it to a glass panel. Although the unit is not recommended to be attached to glass panels, this particular tape from research seems to be able to handle the outside environment. I am in Sydney with hot summers.
