Q: what kind of material are these patches made of?

Vinyl. Like a clarinet mouthpiece patch but a little thicker.

Q: Can you put this product on a piccolo?

I don’t have a piccolo but I would imagine it would be possible though it might need to be trimmed down.

Q: Can these be used on a wood flute without damaging the wood?

I would think there would be no problem. The “stickiness” isn’t permanent, and any residue could be easily removed without leaving any trace.

Q: What are the dimensions of each patch, primarily the thickness?

They are 1-3/8" long and 3/4" wide. The thickness is minimal. I find them to be a great asset to keeping the mouthpiece in place, preventing any slipping from perspiration. Easy to apply, easy to remove.
