RunCam6 4K FPV&Recording Camera

So far this camera is perfect for filming rocket flights. 3D printed a holder for it for a secure and stable flight. Functions are easily controlled on a I-phone, lightweight and wifi connectivity seems stable at over 300 feet. Sound quality is good. Will have to see if it lasts many flights

I use my Rumcam 4K as a hatcam for recording my flights. The video is crisp, clear, and has a good color palette. I like that I can pick my level of field of view in the app. I like the narrow view to get the best close up view. It works great after you get the camera adjusted to record just where you look. I like the fact that they give you a connector with wires to set it up as an FPV camera too. Also the included tray with tripod nut made for an easy installation. Having the WiFi is awesome too. The only downside is that I would like to be able to select my FOV manually out at the flying field without getting into the app.

Takes great video but the way it works is clunky. Also cuts off sometimes it's just a crap shoot if you're gonna get the whole video. But when it works it does good

I used this camera for Action Pistol Shooting and attached it to the bill of my hat with the provided mount. The overall picture quality and features were decent for the price and did the job until it stopped recording each time I shot a stage at a competition match.After some testing I found that this camera is very sensitive to vibration, in this case it was the recoil of the firearm causing it to turn off, and it does not do well in direct sunlight for long periods of time. If I use it indoors and don’t subject it to major vibration, it remains turned on and the video gets saved. Other competitors who also tried this camera reported similar issues before they moved on to a much better action camera.If you are going to use this camera for RC car racing or any other activity where it will be in the sun and shaking/vibration will occur, I would not recommend this camera and would choose much better options on the market instead.

Great addition for RC fixed wing recording. Good stabilization, great recording. Overall is a great camera.

thought I could do a Mic mod to fix the audio but they went to a SMD mic that's pretty much impossible to work with, if RunCam would spend the extra10¢ on decent microphone this could be a GoPro killer( Hero4 and older)

UPDATE 18 MAY 2021: After going back and forth for hours in an idiotic email exchange with customer service, they are refusing to replace this camera. They insist it must be an SD Card problem even though I am using the SD card they suggest and have tried multiple SD Cards now. The fact that you can get it to work by going through a crazy start-stop-start again sequence suggests it is not the card and is the camera, but they did not listen.Downgrading my rating to 1-star for abysmal customer service. This is basically money down the drain.I have to agree with a previous reviewer. This camera is not ready for prime time.Out of the box, it just didn't want to record video for more than about 10 seconds. I wasted two days of rocket launching thinking it was recording and I got exactly 0.0 video.After reading the other reviewer's suggestion to start recording, stop recording, then immediately start recording again, that method worked. Sounds idiotic, but it works.WiFi connection with my Pixel 3 flat out doesn't work. Most times, it just won't connect. When it does, the camera crashes after you start recording video. App crashes constantly.On iOS, the situation for me is better. On my iPad, it can maintain the WiFi connection and doesn't crash the camera, but you still have to do the start-stop-start again trick or the video just stops recording after 10 seconds.The quality of the picture is good, but when a device fails its primary function without resorting to an inane sequence, something is very wrong. The fact that you can't just push the "Record" button and have it work is a serious issue.

I am absolutely thrilled with this camera.I bought it to make Hot Wheels track video as an alternative to the GoPro session which has been hard to find. It has worked flawlessly. An unexpected bonus was that recording in 120 fps results in really clear slow motion when editing in iMovie.My next use for the camera was to replace the camera on my VIVITAR skeyview drone. As a drone camera the standalone WiFi doesn’t have the range to act as an FPV. However it comes with the wires needed to hook up to an FPV transmitter.I did not buy the recommended micro SD, however I made sure to buy a U3 micro SD. This probably saved me from the recording problems that have plagued other users.I am using a scandisk 64gb U3 micro SD. I bought it at target because I didn’t want to wait for it.
