Great!
This a great honing rod! I know it says Sharpening Rod, but if you have a dull knife it would take forever to get to a sharp knife. But honing, it's great. When I go to use my knife I first grab this and do 4 or 5 in each direction, rinse off the knife and it's ready to go to work. I've used round steels for many many years. But this Oval Ceramic honing rod is by far and away the BEST I've ever used. Not sure if that's because it's Oval or because it's Ceramic but I do know it does a wonderful job of keeping my knife very sharp!

Smiths makes a great ceramic. I work with knives everyday with my work, USDA inspector, and it has performed better than expected.
