Chrome Isolation Matte Gel Top Coat

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVEE THIS TOP COAT SO MUCH. This is hands down the best most affordable chrome top coat that ensures FLAWLESS chrome application and isolation. It mattes so evenly and beautifully and for the price you can’t really beat it. If you are a nail tech or you do your own nails, and you are looking for a matte top coat look no further!! This is the one! Just get it

As far as matte top coats go, Gaoy Matte Top Coat is good, and is competitive with the performance and look of others in its price range on Amazon. It goes on smoothly and settles well, and after curing leaves virtually no streak or shine, and has no stickiness to it whatsoever. It smells the same as other gel polishes and top coats - nothing stood out as smelling off or particularly different. Compared with the original color (before applying the matte top coat), the color seemed to stay consistent - it did not look overly faded or washed out. For the price of this matte top coat, you really can't go wrong! I tested 6 matte top coats in the same general price range on Amazon (including this one). To conduct this test, I applied 6 different matte top coats to 6 swatches that had already received two coats of gel polish (I did NOT remove the dispersion layer from the gel polish after curing). Then, I applied one coat of each matte top coat to each swatch (using a normal sized coat - not super thin, but not thick either). I then cured each for 90 seconds. I kept a control swatch so that the colors could be compared. I included photos of the overall test, and a photo of the control nail and this matte top coat. There were some very subtle differences among them, but overall any of them (including this one) are good matte top coats. I would recommend this matte top coat!

The only matte top coat I use and will recommend. The hype it gets is there for a reason. I loveeeee many other gaoy products and this one is definitely 1st place for me. This top coat is the BEST for chrome isolation! I have never had any issues with chrome sticking in places it shouldn't once I started using this. Only photos I could find with chrome that i've done recently but I 100% recommend.

The way ive ALWAYS had issues with matte top coats - so much so- that i swore them off for YEARS. I'd bought GAOY's glossy top coat and loved it, so i decided to give their matte a chance. I'm so glad i did because OMG it's incredible. It goes on super easy, it cures within 60 seconds, it doesnt chip, it doesnt get shiny easy. Theres no weird texture. It covers beautifully and is super durable. If you're tired of cruddy matte toppers? Give GAOY's a try. I promise you'll love it.

This is the perfect matte topcoat for isolated chrome. It’s got a sateen finish so it doesn’t pickup the extra pigment when brandishing it into your design and it doesn’t distort your base color when applied. You do have to make sure you get full coverage or be prepared to cleanup the areas you didn’t cover. I wouldn’t recommend it for an overall matte topcoat unless you’re using it on light colors since it doesn’t pickup pigment it’s less likely to get dirty. I personally prefer a more velvet matte topcoat to finish my sets.

I purchased the GAOY Matte Resist Top Coat specifically for isolated chrome nail art, and it has quickly become a holy grail staple in my nail collection. Before finding this, I tried so many different techniques to keep chrome from sticking where I didn’t want it. I’ve used regular matte top coat and even tried buffing a cured top coat. While I could get those methods to work somewhat, they took so much extra time and still weren’t as effective as I wanted. With this, it’s literally the ease of a brush stroke and I can keep it moving. After applying my chrome, most of the excess brushes away with just a light dusting. I go over everything with a makeup sponge afterward, and the remaining chrome wipes clean away. It’s easy to use, works exactly how I need it to, and it’s budget friendly. I honestly see no reason to look elsewhere. I’ve always loved GAOY products, and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. If you like doing isolated chrome art, I absolutely recommend adding this one to your nail collection.

It’s definitely powder resistant. Great for chrome isolation! The only issue I have with this product is that it seems to slightly remove the gel polish you put it over. I make sure my polish is completely cured before applying this matte top, but it still seems to melt the polish and cause it to bleed sometimes. It doesn’t happen with every polish though, I guess it just doesn’t mesh well with certain brands. Overall still a great product!

This matte top coat is really good, the size is big 16ml is a lot. Low odor, gives a beautiful matte finish and sticks very well and isn’t sticky. Also I used chrome over and it didn’t stick to it. It really is that good!
