Helps boost immunity for my 14yr rr. She’s got all the typical old dog lumps and bumps and has slowed progressively through the years but I wholeheartedly believe that mushroom supplements such as these really help in maintaining their quality of life and vitality even into their platinum years.

Too early to say what a difference they make, will continue to use and see.

The product description claims the ingredients are certified organic, but nowhere on the container does it display that certification. It doesn't even have the word organic anywhere on the labels, and I really looked hard for it. It does, however, have the NASC seal, which is great. According to NASC's website, "the NASC Quality Seal identifies products from companies that are committed to quality, vigilance, and continuous improvement to promote the well-being of companion animals and horses."So I'm glad there's that assurance. But that still doesn't resolve why their product listing says it's got organic ingredients but the container only lists standard ingredients. Granted, the ingredients are clean (no fillers or preservatives) so that's why I'm still rating it highly. Just knocking off a star for the organic claim.

No fillers, no additives, made in the USA. Top 3 awesome features. I get this one and the one with Turkey Tail mushrooms also and love both products. I make my dog's food at home after much research, and it is a balancing act of proteins, healthy fats, and vitamins. This is a great addition that offers so many health benefits. Even if you don't make your dog's food you can add this to their dry food with a scope of Greek yogurt and a little water and those additions alone add so much to their diet that processed food alone can't provide. My dog absolutely loves it. This isn't the only thing I add to his food, but I know how great mushrooms of all kinds are for both humans and animals alike, you can research for yourself and see what I'm talking about! If you have a smaller dog, a little goes a long way. I have a large dog so overall this gets pricy, but he is an only fur child, so he is super loved and the price of him eating healthier means less vet visits so I'm saving money in the long run. Love this product and this brand.

I have purchased several products from Animal Essentials as it is a trusted name and recommended by Cavalier Health. Ingredients are human grade and are NASC National Animal Supplement Council quality seal with no added junk or fillers. The only risk may be if the seller ships broken seal returned products. My container arrived completely sealed and good to 6/2026 so I have no worries at all. That said this seller is remiss for not showing the back of the label with NASC seal and that this is 100% whole body mushrooms. There is an asterisk after each mushroom ingredient on the label and although it's small print it does say *Certified Organic.I ordered this Animal Essentials Mushroom Defense because my Cavalier has MVD heart disease and mushrooms, especially the Maitake and Reishi help support the heart. My Cavalier is only 17lbs so she only needs a 1/2 teaspoon per day and since I make her food I will add to the batch of food rather than sprinkle it on each bowl of food.Excellent product but seller could do better. Highly recommend.

My review for Animal Essentials MUSHROOM DEFENSE Supplement for Dogs: The powder does smell fresh, and the expiration date is 6/26 (I ordered in 2/24). The 2.5 ounces gives you 25 days at the 1 teaspoon dosage level.

This product is the powdered version of the company's Mushroom Defense tincture which I used religiously for immune system support for my aging dog.Screw lid jar sealed with cello around the lid followed by a well secured NASC (National Animal Supplement) seal. The mushroom powder is deliciously aromatic bringing to mind a rich mushroom stock. Both my dogs are in sniffing heaven when the jar gets opened. I feed dehydrated raw and add the mushroom powder to the food prior to re-hydrating. I can smell the mushroom in their food - both dogs clean their plates!No stomach upsets whatsoever using this product and I've decided to stick with the powder over the tincture as my foodie dogs are really into the flavor of the powdered version.Highly recommend.

It would be even better with added mushrooms like turkey tail or Lions mane. I take mushroom supplements and I hope my dogs get these same benefits. They have had no stomach upset or distress with these topical food dressings. Or you could mix with warm water for a broth like treat over food.
