Workes with Canon 80D
Tried the MX G10M on my Canon 80D and this was my experience.Switching on from cold on a cloudy day took several minutes to lock on to satellites and give readings in the camera. Switching the MX G10M, then after about a minute switching it back on again, satellite lock happened in about 20 seconds.GPS data of elevation, latitude and longitude were shown in the camera and recorded to the EXIF of pictures taken by the camera, however no compass heading was shown, and I was unable to calibrate the compass in the camera settings. The MX G10M can be held by the camera hot shoe, but this is only a plastic food with no electrical connections. Power is not drawn from the camera, but from an internal rechargeable battery. Data is exchanged by a USB mini-B to USB mini-B short cable. There are two USB ports on the MX G10M, on USB mini-B data connector (same as data connecter on the camera) and one micro USB-B, the same as those found on most phones today, which is for charging. I therefore think that if the quoted 4-hour battery life is insufficient for your needs, a mobile phone power bank/charger could be used to keep the battery topped up on location.Would I recommend this product? At Amazon EU S.a.r.L.’s new price of £144, no! if however you can find an Amazon warehouse deal at around £50, absolutely. To use the gps data in my photos, I use the Canon “Map Utility for Windows” that came with my Powershot D20, this is available to download from the Canon website, but only works on photos taken on a Canon Camera. I used to take a photo on my D20 at the same time as I took one on a Canon DSLR and use this program to open both photos and copy across the gps data before I had the MX G10M.I will when I get time try the MX G10M on my Canon 70D & 760D as soon as I get time and report on how compatible they are. I will hopefully be able to try it on some other Canon DSLR’s from members of a camera club I run.Hope all this is useful to anyone considering the MX G10M

Works Well But No Hot Shoe Data Connection (You Have To Use The Provided Cable)
I have used my one with a Canon EOS 7D and EOS-M camera with no issues (except it claims rather a lot of satellites).I used to have the real Canon one but made the mistake of leaving the battery in it which leaked out. This one has a rechargeable battery and LCD display which is a bonus.Only one negative is not hot shoe connections, with the real Canon one no cable is required when used with the EOS-M of 5D MKIII so it makes it look more "messy"

Not for canon 70d - no support from marrex
Does not work for canon 70d had 2 just incase I had a faulty one - contacted marrex and asked if there was something I needed to set up but they never replied - tried resetting all camera settings back to factory settings and this then connected and worked but after 5 minutes camera says not gps device connected - reset camera again and same thing - sent both units back for a refund as specs say it should work on 70d even on marrex website states this - while using also battery only lasted 4 hours before it died - have now brought a 2nd hand canon gps for 140.00 and this works perfect - yes the canon one is more money but at least you get what you pay for and not a price of useless plastic with poor manufacture customer support - avoid if you have a 70d

Three Stars
Works OK. Could be faster in finding GPS-position.

NOT for Canon 70D
The device doesn't work with my Canon 70D, they communicate for about 5 seconds, if you take a picture in that time, it accurately records the gps position, then the camera tells you that no GPS device is connected, very frustrating.I've written to the manufacturer, and i await their response.

Misinformation
What I received was not a Mx-Gps Geotagger G10M MKII but just a Mx-Gps Geotagger G10M so I sent it back

READ FINE PRINT - only for limited number of Canon models!
Returned it as soon as I opened the box, clearly states on the package a short list of Canon cameras it works on. The main list of features should CLEARLY STATE WHAT CAMERAS IT WORKS ON! I own Sony, so this was a waste of time and money.

Worthless if you own a 70D
I was hoping to find an inexpensive solution to geotag my photos versus the ~$230 Canon GPS adapter. Unfortunately, it seems you don't even get what you pay for. The device did fine with locating satellites and determining my position, however when I plugged the cable into my 70D, the camera didn't even recognize that it was attached. That alone led me to return it.There were other issues however. The battery life is incredibly short. The one time I used this, I got maybe 3 hours of life out of it. If you typically shoot all day long, this is obviously a problem. Another issue was the hot shoe mount. While others have mentioned how flimsy it is, that wasn't the only issue I had with it. Unlike the Canon GPS, this one does not lock in place in the hot shoe. Several times in the short period that I used this, the adapter fell out of position. Finally, the required cable just seemed to get in the way for me. I could easily see it getting snagged on things with continued usage.I ended up purchasing the Canon GP-E2 instead. Yes, it is pricey, but at least it works. The battery is a single AA, easily obtainable and easily replaceable. If it dies, I can simply install another one. It also communicates directly with the camera through the hot shoe. No pesky cables needed. Configuration is straightforward, and is completed entirely within the camera. And the hot shoe connection feels solid, especially when the lock is engaged.
