Jujube, The Chinese Date

Not much info here
Overall book was a disappointment. First off, the whole back of the book (almost 50%) was about plums and pics of plums! I thought I bought a JuJube book??? Anyway, in the front have, alot of "history" on how JuJubes got here, outdated info on sources ( like Roger Meyer who died years ago .. I know cuz I bought trees from him when he was alive), and other things I guess to fill pages. There is maybe a have dozen or so pages with anything of interest for someone who has maybe never planted a tree, but for the most part the book was worthless, don't waste your money. More info available on internet than this book. It does refer folks to Roger Meyer's book which is THICK and packed with all kinds of details/articles on JuJubes, some highly technical.

Great Resource Book for a Great Fruit
This book is meant to be a tribute to the Chinese jujube. There is just is not another book out there that describes the Chinese jujube with such colorful pictures and details. The Chinese jujube is a great fruit that has not gotten much attention but will grow in most of this country(USA.) It is so easy to grow and produces such consistant crops of fruit with few problems. There are interesting stories about how the Chinese jujube came to be in America and about the "lost" jujubes. Interesting recipes are included for uses of jujubes so that you can enjoy jujubes yeararound with the preservation methods cited. The new varieties imported from China in recent years also make eating a fresh jujube a real treat.

Comprehensive Review of An Awesome Fruit!
I am a Jujube enthusiast. I have several trees on my property and often find myself giving the delicious fruit away to coworkers, friends and family. When I found out there was a book solely based on the growing of Jujubes, I had to buy it. It is a very comprehensive book on a plant that deserves more credit. If you are a hobby orchardist like myself, or just looking for a great fruiting or landscape tree, look into jujubes. and if you need a guide on growing and caring for your tree, as well as a sourcebook for some of the best jujube varieties buy this book!

Jujube - the Chinese date Ashton
In a dearth of information on the subject this is OK, a bit amateurish - perhaps self published. The title should be "Jujube - the Chinese date in USA" as there is not much about origins, cultivation in china etc.Overall - a good place to start looking at Jujube cultivation in USA.

Grow jujubes
This is a must for those thinking about growing jujubes. If you're not growing jujubes, then you should be. This book tells you why. Good job, Richard Ashton.
