D'Addario Ascente Violin Strings - Violin Strings with Ball Ends, Synthetic Core - A312 1/4M - A String - 1/4 Scale - Medium Tension

Resonate beautifuly, keep pitch pretty well, highly recommend

I've been playing music for decades. Started on viola back in 5th grade. Recently started violin to improve my treble clef sight reading. Purchased to put on a student grade 1970's German violin I picked up at Goodwill. I use D'Addario's on my acoustic guitar and figured I'd give these a shot for the price. They are FAR better than the price point would lead you to believe. They broke in after an hour or two of playing and while I don't exactly buy into D'Addario's marketing department's "expanded tonal palette" claims they are good sounding strings and a bit more colorful and a bit warmer/less harsh than steel strings. They, and a bit of noodling with the bridge position, helped clean up the sound on that violin. They feel great under the fingers and are absolutely rock solid in their stability. That part the people in marketing got 100% right. Have barely had to tune that violin after they first got stable. Are they a set of Evah Pirazzi or even Dominants? No, but they are dang good, especially at $21 with prime shipping. My instructor even remarked on them, asking what they were and saying they are "good strings" after playing on them for a bit. At $21 you really ought to try them as they are a cheap alternative to steel strings and I think a good upgrade for beginners and intermediate students.

My review of this product is absolutely owning when I put these on my violin and I played that string. It sounded perfect. Even the strings that I buy at the music store. Don’t sound that good. Definitely check out these Amazon products for your violin.

The price of these strings was low and it was not the brand I have used for years. They are new to me so I cannot be more specific than saying that I was really pleased at how good they sound. I put them on an old violin I am doing some restoration on, and thought it sounded terrific. Very pleased. I have not had them on long enough to state how they hold up.

Initially the string thickness was a little distracting and difficult to adjust to. However, after finally getting them in the right configuration and tuned properly, I feel these are the best strings I have ever had. For my next string change perhaps I will select higher price and quality but for now these are "it".

Guess I didn't realize how muddy the old strings sounded. Glad I opted to replace the entire set. They tuned quickly, and seem to hold their tone well.

Desde Diciembre 2022 hasta mayo 2023 solo se me desentorcho la cuerda 2da (LA) Y aun asi no se revento pero tuve qie reemplazarla para la afinacion, excelente opcion si quieres buen sonido y ademas cuidar un poco el bolsillo

Ho montato questa corda "Re" su un violino acustico elettrificato after market, nonostante le altre corde fossero di marca e modello Thomastik Dominant, e devo dire di non aver riscontrato nessun problema dovuto alla differenza, il timbro di questa corda è piacevolmente caldo, un suono duttile, avvolgente. Penso che alla prima occasione comprerò una muta intera di queste D'Addario Ascentè: un ottimo prodotto, consigliate.
