Wheeler Digital Fat Wrench

I've used Wheeler products professionally for many years, this product did not disappoint, I've used the Mechanical version primarily and was curious of this new Digital version, and I have to say it is nice and simple, great quality as expected from wheeler and awesome price point, would definitely recommend.

4 months old and it is junk, won't turn on. Outside of the return window, so it's headed to the dump

I like the fact the tool comes with a case. The included specs are accurate. It’s a solid tool. Lighter that the regular Fat Wrench. I’m just not a battery guy with most tool however the accuracy and quality changes my mine. 5 Start tool 4.8 for the original.

After using this a bunch, I'd just recommend people get the mechanical version instead. Far less likely to over-torque something that way.

Gotta give credit where credit is due. Bought the fat wrench a few years ago and I’m pretty much just a hunter, so I’m not mounting tons of scopes every year. That said, I used the one I bought a few times, five times at the most and it worked great. Recently I pulled it out after sitting for at least six months and it wouldn’t power on. I obviously changed the battery but aside from that, there’s not really anything you can do to troubleshoot to my knowledge. I sent some pictures and had a couple back and forth emails and they sent me a new one without hesitation. That’s as good of customer service as anyone can ask for in my opinion. When it works, this is a great product. You also can’t find another torque screwdriver for the value even at harbor freight. Easy to use as well.

Here's the problem with this poorly designed POS: the get the battery out to replace it, you have to have an uncommon size Torx (star) wrench. You won't find one in basic Torx wrench set, and it doesn't come with one. Save yourself the money and buy the regular, non-digital version. This was a waste of money and will be returned.

FAT Wrench did not have instruction sheet or battery. Box says battery included.

Dead out of the box, tried both batteries. Didn’t feel sturdy, shame really. Not sure it’s worth £122.
