Perfect feeder and a stress-reliever in the process!
Starting with unboxing, everything was safely packed and not damaged. The packaging ensured this. The plastics are high quality and don’t feel flimsy or breakable. The instructions for putting it together were super easy to follow. Setting it up on my WiFi and using the app to customize feedings, amounts, notifications, and pet info was incredibly easy. You don’t need the paid service if you got this feeder to limit which cat can eat, and/or when, and/or how much. I have found it FANTASTIC over the last three weeks. My kitten has expensive food she needs for her sensitive stomach and my older cats were eating it ALL. It works exactly as I need - only the kitten gets the food now and there’s plenty of it - no empty bowl. You can schedule it to add food at the frequencies and amount that you want. The food stays in the bowl even when you have a crafty, ninja cat trying to get into it, sitting on it, and desperately trying to figure out how to get in to steal the kitten’s food. It doesn’t tip with the cat sitting on top while she contemplates the break in, and is very stable. No food spills or device tipping. The notifications provided via the app are helpful in letting you know when the cat eats. for how long, when food is low, when food is stuck in the dispenser, etc. My kitten hasn’t been microchipped, but I’m hopeful to get her chipped for various reasons and when I do, I can add her chip to the device and then her own microchip will open the food cover. I won’t need her to wear the collar. Speaking of the collar, there are only two things I wish the company would consider - neither would stop me from purchasing another should I need it. The first is that the charm on the collar that makes the food door open is a little large, especially for a kitten. Smaller would be nicer. The second suggestion would be to have a button on the feeder that the owner can press to open the food door if they need to open it for some reason. If there is one I haven’t seen it and you have to use the app to open it and sometimes my phone isn’t with me so that’s really just a minor inconvenience, not a feature that doesn’t work, but it would be nice to have a button to open the food cover. I really have nothing negative to say about it and would highly recommend it to anyone that needs to control which cat can eat where. It’s a little pricey, but for me, the sacrifice has been completely worth it. More people might purchase if the price point was a little lower, but I feel confident in saying it’s a durable, well-made device. It even has battery back-up should you lose power - so your cat can still eat! I have had the feeder for three weeks now and it has worked perfectly and has completely taken away stress that I had over trying to feed my kitten separately.

It’s PERFECT!
My oldest kitty, Donut, was recently diagnosed with urinary crystals and requires to be on prescription food that other kitty, Mabel, cannot be on. He is also not allowed to eat her food to try and keep everything under control. Feeding them at certain times was difficult to do as Mabel is a big foodie, and if Donut didn’t eat all of his food, she would eat it all. So after much research on the many different covered automatic feeders, I decided on purchasing two of this one. It is a bit expensive but absolutely worth the price, and the kitties took up to it immediately! The setup isn’t too hard as long as you follow along with the booklet they provide, then the PETLIBRO app does the rest. Very simple and easy to set up. What I like about it is that it only opens for the specific cat whose tag you register to it. Mabel did try to bite her way into Donuts bowl, but was unsuccessful thankfully. That proves how durable it is!!! I also like that you can set up meal times to automatically dispense at a certain time at a certain amount. If you free feed, this is still possible to do per pet if you just keep track of how much food has been eaten and just refill when it gets low. You can set dispensing schedules by day and time and if you prefer for the kitties to get fed a certain amount 3 days a week and differently the other 4 days, you can absolutely easily set it up that way. The ability to also put batteries into the feeders to allow it to work in case of a power outage is a lifesaver!! If you have a kitty that is also food crazy, you can adjust the cover closing times and speed to try and help ensure that the other kitty does not steal food. I’ve also placed the feeders in different rooms to avoid this. While there are a lot of pros, there are a few cons but it isn’t necessarily a deal breaker for the overall feeder. If you schedule meal times, if the kitty hasn’t eaten the full amount, it will obviously pile onto the food in the bowl already. If your kitty isn’t much of an eater, the food will pile up and cause the dispenser to get blocked. It’s easy to fix, as I usually just open the cover in the app and use my finger to pull the blocked food down. For my kitty who doesn’t eat a ton, I have turned off scheduled feeding to avoid this from happening and just refill when it gets low. This isn’t a deal breaker whatsoever as he is still getting the food he needs! When setting up, the feeder also does talk, which may be startling for some skittish kitties. Luckily, my kitties were not fazed by it; although, I did completely turn down the voice as soon as I could to avoid them getting scared if it did talk for any reason. Lastly, the last con is the often changing and cost of the desiccant bags; although, there are alternatives that you can find online and use in place of the PETLIBRO branded bags that work just as good. Overall, this is a great product given my situation! It does its job perfectly and helps keep my mind at ease that my kitties are getting the food they need. 100% recommend!

Good product that helps with feeding multiple cats!
This gets a 4 star from me because when it works, it really works great. But there are definitely times it needs fixing. I have 2 cats. One is an all day snacker. A bite here and there. The other, scarfs it all down as fast as possible and then went for her brother's food. We bought this for him because he could still snack all day, but she wouldn't be able to access it (though she's tried hard! She figured out how it worked almost instantly and he took a few days...lol!) Anyway, it works great at only letting him get at the food. The food reservoir for the main part, is quite large and holds a ton of dry food. The tray where he eats from holds about 2 cups of food which is more than enough for my cat's needs. Now for the cons: Even though it is designed for cats and cat food, the food is a little lighter weight and doesn't always fully dispense into the food tray, instead gets stuck between the rotors and the opening into the food tray. This ends up sending an error message to my phone to be cleared. It's easy to fix, but you do have to be home to clear the chute. Secondly, the rotors will get jammed by a piece of food getting stuck in them. It's happened 3 times in about 6 months. So not even monthly, but it is annoying because you have to completely remove all the food and fiddle around until it's unjammed. Not sure if this is something that can be prevented as most cat food seems to be the same size. Anything bigger, and I don't think my cat would eat it. Finally, my last con is the quality of the attachment of the key fob to the collar. I used the round metal ring that came with it to attach the fob to his collar. It lasted about a month before the metal snagged the carpet and ripped off the collar, allowing the fob to come unattached. I still haven't found the original fob, but I did find the metal loop still in the carpet. I would definitely not use the ring it came with and replace it with a much sturdier one (I found an old key chain one). You can buy replacement fobs and the syncing it and removing the old one from the app was not difficult. Pros: Everything was easy to put together and figure out, both the machine and the app. The feeder works as described and it's allowed my cat access to his food but no one else. It's also nice when we're out of town, as it's one less thing for my cat sitter to have to do/remember. It holds plenty of food and warns you when the feeder is getting low via your phone. If it didn't jam so often, it'd have been a full 5 stars from me and I still would recommend using it even with those issues!

Highly recommend, but definitely has some areas for improvement.
We bought 2 so that our cats would stop stealing eachothers food. One of them is on a special diet and gets sick if he eats the others food, and the other is a thief. So far the feeders have been working pretty well. Getting them used to the feeder did take a bit of time, and I wish that there were instructions for getting them used to it. What worked for me was feeding treats nearby, then putting their normal bowl on the feeder (without RFID), then using open mode with treats, then adding the collar with open mode. The included collars were not the best, but luckily the RFID can be detached and attached to another collar. One of our cats is on the smaller end and hated having the ID hanging down. I ended up using an airtag holder and placing the RFID tag in there, which he doesn't mind. The feeders functionality and setup so far has been great, and it is very nice to be able to see when the cats actually go to eat. One thing that has been a bit annoying is that sometimes the bowl portion shifts, creating a lip that gets food stuck in the shoot as seen in my photo. This is resolved by reaching in and pushing down on the bowl portion until it removes the lip. The other one doesn't have this issue, so I think maybe its just a fitment issue with this device. Overall, this feeder is great value for money and totally resolved our issues with the cats stealing food. Our cats are definitely healthier with this feeder, so I highly recommend it for anyone in a similar situation. The wifi connectivity is nice and allows for easy setup. I don't pay for the app, but the even just the free features are pretty nice. It

DANGEROUS, BUGGY, DOOR & CLOSING PROBLEMS MAKE THIS COSTLY IN TIME AND MONEY
This is my Amazon review in the third position and marked helpful by 28 people: I curse this company screaming daily... 🤬🤬🤬 DANGEROUS, BUGGY, DOOR CLOSING PROBLEMS!!! I bought 2 of these (and one non-specofic petlibro vacuum sealed feeder for my fat guy to get regular mini portions) and BOTH (all three, actually) are Nightmare of Hazardous, Buggy & MORE time consuming than hand feeding my 4 cats EACH feeding! First, and most dangerous is the ridiculous and thoughtless requirement to have an RFID tag, rather than reading the tags already embedded in almost every single cat. Because of this I had to put this dumb dangerous non-breakaway collar (it is supposed to be breakaway) on my cat, to then find my cat gagging and stuck with its mouth open it's and 's. Bottom teeth caught in the Petlibro collar that wasnt breaking off. Thank F*** I was home when it happened or else who knows what would have happened to my poor cat who now is missing a tooth because of this and had to fight an infection after i took my cat to the emergency room because she was having problems with her mouth and jaw and tongue and bleeding.... 🤬🤬🤬 If this wasn't bad enough, after switching the device to my other cat, and leaving my old microchip feeder for her, the device won't shut DAILY. The sliding door constantly stays open now because it cannot stay closed. This does NOT happen with the other, but that one has other constant issues like rotor stuck for no reason. Lastly, the company took so long to upgrade the firmware to allow feeders to close faster, my fat cat has already figured out that if he gets in there fast enough, then the feeder won't close all the way and he can get as mich as he wants. THIS is thr ONLY cat I buy all my feeders for because hees the one that i meed to limit, otherwise all would free feed. ALSO, guess what? Have a cat that will dig at a feeder? The doors on these come RIGHT out and off if they catch their claw on the rubber hinged lid area. THEN FREE FEEDING ALL DAY ON OTHER CATS FOOD UNTIL YOU COME HOME. NOT EVEN AN ERROR LOGGED!?!? NO WAY TO LOCK IN THE DOORS!? NONE of these RIDICULOUS frustrating, time consuming, dangerous and costly FAILURE POINTS NEVER OCCURED with the other branded microchip feeder (with no food hopper) ive used for years. The problem is it didn't do anything but open so it isnt useful for more than one days feeding before needing refilled. I bought two of these and another petlibro feeder to build a comprehensive feeding system to save me time and frustration, but all it has fone is cost me hundreds of dollars of waste, wasted money on food my cat still overeats, a hurt car with vet bill and a cat with a missing tooth, and minimally functioning and terribly designed and implemented hardware and software. As a Data Scientist and AI engineer, this company could have done things 100x better than the competition, filling a gap and even adding AI capabilities that are fairly cheap and effective, but they clearly dont know what they are doing, dont have cats that have a freding problem, and obviously dont losten to feedback as I was worried at purchasing time of all the errors and issues Ive read about. Do NOT BUY THIS unless you want a lot of pain, causing pain to your kitties, having a collar and giant tag around their neck that has been PROVEN to be dangerous, and a nightmare of mechanical, technical, setup nightmares, bad UI, no AI, all features that are useful are behind a SUBSCRIPTION paywall (!?!?!) and all you will have to show for it is pending more time and money on food, vey bills, and time fixing/figuring out the broken devices and resetting, and THEN you can finally feed your cats every day. Wasnt this device supposed to fix ALL of that?!?!?!? Sadly im only describing the most annoying issues I've had, not even the smaller ones with programming, wifi connectivity, and more. I'd never spend MORE money on for tracking and stats ability that should be included FREE for the cost, and ill never buy a PetLibro device ever again after buying 3 and having problems with ALL of them unless they were able to fix all these problems and get me 3 working devices that take LESS time than manually feeding, not MORE time and money!!!

Best Purchase Ever Made! 10/10
I would give this product a million stars if I could. Truly the best product I’ve ever gotten for our two kitties. This automatic feeder has been an absolute life changer for me. Before, I really was struggling to keep up with our cat’s feeding habits. One of our cats, Colby, is constantly grazing. Usually never eating more than a few bites at a time. So feeding him twice a day just wasn’t cutting it for his nutritional needs. However, our other cat, Kahlan, has some medical issues that have caused her to gain weight. She has to be on a special prescription diet and her food needs to be portioned. You can see my dilemma. Prior to this purchase I was feeding our cats 4 times a day!! And on top of the sheer quantity of times they had to be fed I also had to monitor each feeding to ensure Kahlan wasn’t getting into Colby’s food. Fast forward to March, 2025. My husband and I are going on vacation in 1 month and trying to figure out how in the world we are going to keep the cats on their now well established routines. Of course, we can’t expect someone else to come into our house four times a day AND supervise each meal multiple times over the course of a week. Then I remembered this recommendation from a friend. I had put off purchasing this in the beginning simply for the expense, knowing we would have to get two machines. Let me tell you, it was worth every penny. We have both machines set up so the cats get 1/12 cup of dry food 3 times a day (7am, 3pm, and 10pm) the food automatically dispenses at these times each day and you can use the app to easily change how much food you want dispensed and at what times. I watched the instructional video and had no issues with set-up. That being said, our cats have always been comfortable wearing collars. The collars are an important piece to this process working smoothly because the machine is set up to recognize the collar of the cat it is paired to. This function along with the plastic side guards ensure that the cats cannot get into each other’s food, not for lack of trying!! So if your cats are not used to wearing collars or will not wear them, this product won’t work as intended. The collars are also not made of the most durable material. However, you can easily take the “chip” off their collar and place it on a new collar and it will still work as intended. Another note, if you are getting these before going on vacation like we did, I highly recommend getting the product about a month or so in advance. Colby took to the machine instantly. However, Kahlan would not eat from hers for a while and it took a number of days with us feeding her next to the machine for her to get comfortable with it. If you find your cat having issues with it, I would recommend giving it a week or two to allow them to adjust before returning the product. Though she took longer with warming up, she now happily uses her machine and races to her feeder as soon as she hears the sound of her food dispensing. We had only one glitch when we were on vacation where the food in one of the feeders got stuck and wouldn’t dispense. However, the app notifies you instantly telling you exactly what the problem is. We called a relative to fix the problem and the app will also remove the error code once the problem is properly resolved. We also bought a pet cam to set up next to the feeders so we could monitor the cats as they were eating and check up on them each day. This product truly gave me my life back. I cannot speak more highly of these feeders. If you are doing what I was and hand feeding and supervising your cats multiple times a day, please try this. If it doesn’t work in 3-4 weeks you can always return the product. BUT if it does work, you will get your time back and significantly reduce your stress and frustration over your cats health and weight. These feeders completely eliminate the problem of overeating. Please also note that with the exception of the one technical difficulty, we have not had a single issue with the feeders prior or since. We have continued to use them daily even upon returning from our vacation as a replacement to hand feeding the cats.

Nice product, but use with caution.
Let me start by saying that overall this is a nicely designed product made by a great company. Build quality is nice, it’s quiet, love the led display, but there is one critical point of failure on these that has nothing to do with the quality of the feeder, but rather with your cat. I recently adopted a second cat, who eats super fast and all at once, leaving the other cat nothing. Before going on vacation, I bought this feeder for my other cat (slow eater) so that he would have his own food bowl to eat out of. (They had previously been sharing one bowl). Problem 1: My first cat, the slow eater, will walk over to the feeder, the feeder will open, then the other cat (fast eater) will run up and stick his head into the bowl (forcing the other cat out despite the walls around the bowl) but because the first cat won’t actually step away from the bowl, the container simply remains open while the second cat eats away. So firstly, if you’re getting this because you have two cats, you need to get two, because the other cat will of course find the new feeder and the “semi-off limits” food within it much more interesting than their plain ol boring feeder haha. However, there is a second, much more serious challenge with this setup. When I returned from vacation, lo and behold I found my slow eater without his collar on! (Which is unheard of, to my knowledge he has never gotten his collar off before). And so then imagine my shock when I look down at this new feeder I got him, and the bowl is full of food, but the door to the bowl is closed because he can’t open it because he got his collar off! It was like a black mirror episode. Thank god I was only gone for a day, but if it had been a longer trip……. There were scratch marks all around the bowl where he was trying to get to it 😿. Here’s the thing: Yes, the RFID tag that comes with this bowl is small, yes it is lightweight, but if you’re a cat it’s not that small, it’s actually still pretty big, and cats are very sensitive as we know to what we put on them. I would compare it to wearing a small christmas bulb around your neck if you are human-sized for comparison. So my guess is he got fed up with having the tag on and worked his collar off, because he’s never taken his collar off before. I think this company and this product are off to a strong start, as I said, it’s thoughtful design, well made, feels high end all around. If you as the buyer make sure that you have a collar that is >impossible< to get off, and attach the rfid tag in a similar way, AND have a WiFi camera that you can access to remotely view the bowl/your cats, then sure, maybe. I thought the collar on my cat was impossible to get off… and yet. Imo: They either need to shrink the size of the rfid tag down significantly, (ideally it would be something like a sticker that you could just stick to the inside of the collar), OR they need to switch to a camera-based facial recognition system, which would fix the problem of my other cat stuffing his face in the bowl while the cat with the rfid tag stands right there keeping it open, AND it would solve the fallibility of your cats access to food depending upon an arbitrary physical object dangling around their neck that they can lose or get off. If one day petlibro brings a face-id system to these devices and gets rid of the collar, then sure, I might come back, but for now, purely for safety’s sake, I will be switching to a dumb dual-feeder that just puts food into two open bowls at the same time.

Disappointed
I have 5 cats. One is diabetic and one takes a chemotherapy drug so they can no longer share dishes. I thought these would solve my issue but immediately see several design flaws in this product. At this point, only one cat is not scared of this feeder. I have removed the sides and am keeping the lids open to determine if they will adjust to them. Here is an obvious list of issues to consider when purchasing: 1) it would be beneficial if there was a higher base which is the ideal feeding position for cats (especially since the feeding area is small) 2) The tag is moderate size so it can irritate a cat that is not used to a hanging tag. It also can be dangerous if the cat tries to grab at it. It also hits the metal dish while they try to eat. A tag with a slit to lay more flat on a collar would solve that issue. I have it tucked under their current collars for now. 3) 2 cats ate from the side because their heads hit the opened lid that moves if they try to eat straight on as designed. It would be better if the lid was flat and retracted into the unit. Another option is having more space between the lid and dish. 4) The food did get clogged and kept closing the lid on my one cat that will use it. Obviously an issue if being used to feed your pets if you aren't home. You will see in the video how small and confined this is compared to his head. I also showed what I had to do with the tags for now. I think this would be a great product if they upgraded these things. I see many people like it and their cats have no issues. I am still hopeful I can use them but obviously feeding can't be a source of stress.
